Peace be onto you, for onto you light is given in truth there are three unclean spirits, Revelation 12:9, 16:13-14,. The way of truth can only be found in the law and it is the light of men that come in the way of the law, Isiah 8:20, Matthew 10:2-4 are the Apostles, Revelation 21:14 & 22:2, Mathew 18:16 , John 8:17, Deuteronomy 17:6 ,Deuteronomy 19:15-21, & Deuteronomy 27: 26. Fill thy heart with the seven lamps of truth and be wary of those that come not as witness.
The Cross is the True Church, Not the church of later day Saints. Our Sins and Faith assemble on the Cross. Just to comment on one of the points "The true church must bear the name of Jesus." Jesus was put on the Cross, the Cross bears the name of Jesus. As believers we are baptised with the blood not water. The Cross is the TRUE CHURCH.
Restored church? Matt. 16:18, 28:18-20, and Eph. 3:21 disagree with the Acts 3 LDS interpretation. Baptism for the dead? verses 12-32 shows the context of the passage. Early church never practiced BFTD. Matthew 7...too much to get into for this post...
Well, assuming all these points are true...the LDS still fails this test. Aren't the prophets paid a "modest living wage"? Eph. 5:23 says Christ is the Head of the church...nothing about the name of it. Foundation...Christian church has always had that. Same organization? LDS got the order wrong and even added positions not even found in the Bible. Acts 10 shows Holy Spirit coming upon the people, no laying of hands. John 4:24 says God is Spirit. Amos 3:7 taken WAY out of context. cont'd
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
To know what is the true church is one must first determine of what being holy is first. To do this you must determine what is unholy. To learn what is unholy you must find out what is the definition of Sin.
This is simple, sin is transgression of the Law, so by default the laws of Yahweh / his way or commandments are the reverse of sin & are means in which we justify what is or is not Holy. Which Laws, James speaks we shall not falter in any law or we break all, so any laws that break others by enforcing them are unlawful.
Matthew and John are the words of Christ himself concerning his teachings of the church, if you want to know Christ will try listening to him instead of those that come in his name. For Christ warned all not to follow in men that came in his name ans spoke of where the Antichrist would appear, in the desert, To be specific at the crossroads to Damascus.
Return to the son of mans words and the Laws of the commandments and redeem yourself and walk upright in that which is Holy.
He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.
He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
This seems blasphemous! Why is there a puppet holding the bible? Why cant this person use a somebody real to try to convince us that his church is the true church? Why must this church rely solely on their so called "latter" day saints instead of the early Saints in church history, the martyrs, the apostles, or those who lived closer to the time and life of our Lord Jesus? Oh yeah, because they all defended the One true Faith which was established by Christ ,not Joseph Smith, 2000 yrs ago.
The true church of Jesus Christ is a relationship, not a membership. It doesn't have a roof or an address. We are the Body of Christ, those of us who have accepted His work on the cross for our sins 2000 years ago, once and for all. Our names have been written in the Book of Life from the beginning. 1 cross + 3 nails = 4 given.
? The true church of Jesus Christ isn't catholic or protestant. It isn't a denomination. It doesn't have a mailing address, a zip code or statues on the front lawn. It is the body of believers in Jesus Christ from all over the world, past, present and future whose names He has written in the Book of Life from the beginning. Christ knows who His friends are.
I am new convert to Catholicism (formerly non denominational) & I must say to you that the Biblical & Historical evidence is far TOO GREAT to be ignored less we CHOOSE to negligent.
I implore you and all other's reading this to CHECK the Catholic Church's claims & see if they hold up. Please message me to give me the news re your progress.
@megaead69 There is absolutely no honest and legitimate biblical or historical evidence which says Christ established the catholic church. Christ said our salvation was His way, not our 'ways'. Catholicism is nothing more than paganistic doctrines of men at its finest. It's called the ROMAN Catholic church for very good reasons. That's a dead give away. It has nothing to do with Christ's true church. Do some research regarding Simon Magus. He may be the founder you are talking about.
John316, sigh..... How about doing some research instead of repeating such Weak rhetoric and propaganda? Until very recently, I too had some misplaced animosity towards the Roman Catholic Church, until I did some research. It doesn't take much, btw. The truth speaks so loudly that one would have be very cynical not to hear it.
So... instead of just repeating rubbish why don't you think about what you're saying before you say it. I am certain you and all, would come to the same logical conc.
@megaead69 The Catholic church did not exist in Christ's day or for nearly 400 years after his death. Catholic means universal. The church did not be come universal, in fact was a small persecuted minority until the conversion of Consintine, at which time a lot of paganism replaced Biblical truth.
@paulaegraham The term "catholic" gradually came into use to designate 7 New Testament epistles: JAMES; 1,2 & 3JOHN;1 & 2PETER; & JUDE. It first appears in reference to 1 John in the writings of Apollonius about 197 A.D., and later in reference to all these epistles in the church historian Eusebius(260-340 A.D.) The title supposes the epistles in question to lack specific addresses & therefore directed to the whole church. This however, is not the case for 2&3 John.
@flacos77 ***(continued).... With the exception of 1Peter and 1John, the inspired character of these catholic epistles was disputed in the early church, and finally settled in their favor only at the beginning of the fifth century.
@megaead69 First, the oldest Church is the Church founded by Christ Himself at Pentacost in AD33, this the Orthodox Church. Second, the Orthodox have not deviated from the traditions or dogmas of the early Church. Vatican I & II decisions changed certain dogmas foreign to the early Church. Papal infallibility is unfounded, and nowhere in scriptures does it mention that Peter was bishop of Rome. Other innovations ,the filioque, purgatory, immaculate conception, the use of leavened bread and no wine.
The LDS church was established by Joseph Smith, you call him a prophet, however the test of a true prophet is that All his prophecies come to pass, JS's did not. And how dare you use the same bible that your faith proclaims to be in error to try and prove anything.
God having a flesh-and-bone body is not shown in those verses. Plus, John 4:24 refutes the LDS interpretation. There are officers in Christ's church? Didn't know Christ's church existed in the O.T. LDS interpretation of Amos 3:7 cannot jive with Hebrews 1:1-2. Christianity has had missionaries for a long time. Only one verse even mentions baptism for the dead, and Paul said THEY, as in, not the church. Plus, it's not even in the BoM, and it's supposed to contain the fulness of the gospel?
...are paid, whether living expenses or extravagant salaries. they are paid. Baptism by immersion was done by Jesus to fulfill the law, because He was born under it. Acts 10:44-48 who laid the hands upon the people to receive the Holy Spirit? Also, they received the Holy Spirit BEFORE THEY were baptized. Mark 3 says that Jesus appointed the 12 to do those tasks, not the church. Christianity has taught that the Father and the Son were distinct persons all along. (cont'd)
The true church must bear the name of Jesus Christ...Documentary History of the Church Vol. 2 p. 63. The church is called the Church of LAtter Day Saints. So, by that logic, the LDS is not the true church. Also, you only build the foundation once. After that, you build upon the foundation. Third, church organization is not in the BoM, and the LDS church does not have the exact same positions in the Bible. Christ already gave the church authority. Plus, the president and the apostles...
Clever, creative, but I must respectfully disagree. Baptism for the dead? Jesus taught death is like a sleep, having no awareness. The Bible teaches that you stay in your grave, awaiting the resurrection at the last day. See John 11, Eccl. 9:4,5,6,10 & I could give you more verses in harmony. Baptizing indeed is to be done by immersion, but for the living & for someone who makes a willing choice. For the dead not Biblical.
God does have a true remnant church. Keep looking please. God bless.

Cardinals are the senior authorities in the Roman Church, not Bishops. In the true Church of Jesus Christ Bishops were local officers. They did not preside over the whole church. Bishop Linus never held the Keys that Peter or the other Apostles held. How could Linus be the head of the church in AD67 when the Apostle John was still alive. Even the Apostle Paul was not martyred until AD67!
Linus was a bishop in Rome. He was not an Apostle and he was not even a Pope. The office of Pope didn't exist until the creation of the Holy Roman Church under the sun worshipper Constantine. The 12 Apostles are the presiding authorities in the Church of Jesus Christ with the senior Apostle as President of the Church. Clement referred to Peter as President Peter. Peter was never a Pope and never sat on a throne. God forbid!
There are 199 cardinals in the Catholic church and no Apostles. Even if these men did claim authority based on an extremely tenuous link to Peter, when did the Lord authorize the change in the number of Apostles from 12 to 199? And when did he authorize the change in the name of the office from Apostle to Cardinal. Answer: He didn't! There might be many wonderful people in the RC church but Im afraid its not the Lord's church.
The catholic church is what its says on the tin. Its the church of the roman empire, founded by Emperor Constantine who was a sun worshipper. The true church are the people
Not a religion
All the 10 commandments must be kept
WE are of course only saved by faith
John 14:15 says that the people who love JEsus will keep his commandments
The sabbath(saturday) is the 4th commandment
