Life is grand if you get Rosie the "Ruhm" weapon for this... you can nuke the tank for your first move and maybe kill both targets in the enemy camp on turn 2 if you really line up your shot well. Using the Alicia run up the left trick on the later Windmill plaza skirmish is the easiest way to hit L20 though.
I think easiest one is the retaking Bruhl skirmish. I forgot how much EXP you get but its near 100k if not over (I might be wrong on this since my soldiers are all level 20 for a while now. But it's high.). You don't even have to do it on easy. Defense order on Alicia is all you need. Caution if she doesn't have Resist Crossfire and Demolition Boost if you want to kill the tank along the way. Run her up the left side and kill the sniper and turret at the camp. Done.
Just do the one at Barious, give Alicia a defense order and a caution order. ( if you want you could also do an attack order) In like 3 CP she can reach the flag, then just shoot the sniper there, and bang, welcome like 26k xp.

How much difficulty difference is there between Normal and Easy (I think I've been currently playing easy the whole time since I'm not used to strategy)

I've done this run but used Alisha with the same buffs plus "Awaken Potential".
Once I get to the first enemy, I take a hard right and get one additional red Enemy Leader. This pushes the EXP just over 6k.

I just do the 8th or 9th mission. I use the defense boost for Alicia and she can take the enemy base in one turn, lol.

Only to put in everyone who gives you an extra command (Largo etc), do it on Easy, and use your movement as effectively as possible.
If you still can't make it, do the first skirmish to earn XP and spend it on upgrading your shocktroppers.

Bah can do this with Alicia and the Shamrock easily, it isn't as fast but you get the tank kill points as well.

she was only 5 : D
this mission give less Exp but it finish very quick
so i can repeat doing this and boost up some point
