@KooturKoot The old Transco Tower is now called "The Williams Tower" and is connected to "The Galleria" by a crosswalk that takes you about 2 or 3 stories above street level.
This used to be "The Texas Commerce Bank" building- Chase now is the owner- I was born a few blocks away at St. Joseph Hospital and I have lived in this area my entire life and I will probably die here as well.
I have been up there MANY times. I used to take my nieces and nephews there so they could see how beautiful the world around them really is. They all used to be scared at first, BUT they all ended up having a wonderful time- They used to have an express (SKY LOBBY) elevator that would take you non-stop all the way there. It has been several years since I have been there. I used to take them to "The Spaghetti Warehouse" in Downtown when we were done to eat lunch. I really miss those days!!
@nighthauke Houston really has a lot of great things in addition to having a better cost of living index like New York or Los Angeles has- AND we also have BEAUTIFUL subdivisons to live in like in the Memorial area, or River Oaks. A million dollars goes farther here in Houston!!
does anyone know the name? theirs a building down town at the last top floor thats a resteraunt i was their when i was really young so if you know let me know...also i herd theirs and underground mall its not so big but its underground of downtown dont know if its just a rumor?
@ricocasekfan ok, so this building doesnt really have an observation deck, this is just the highest floor spectators can go to? guess that makes sense, kinda like that dubai building, their skydeck is only like 2/3s of the way up , how dumb
@JeffyBigH The 60th floor on the chase tower is the observation deck. But I do think it should be higher on the building like the Sears (Willis) Tower. it has 110 and the observation deck is on 103. They should have put it on 70-75
i think ill get up in the building some time this week .. ive been on the outside and surrounding area .. but ya very nice building here , amazing southern view of housto

@nighthauke The best time to go to the "sky lobby" is right after a cool front blows thru and the air is crisp and clean. You can see for MILES!!

@Rtfune I try to encourage people to go up the sky lobby and look over Houston and as far as the eye can see. It's always a great experience.

@savio713 Could it be Scott Gertner's Skybar? Yes, there are shops under downtown. The tunnels connect various buildings.
nighthauke 11 months ago
@savio713 YES!! It used to be called "The Spindletop". I am not sure if it is even around anymore.
