  • strap a pair of these on my skate board

  • who would dislike this? so random!

  • jeah the GAS bottles on the Right :DDD

  • how much thrust does the engine produce?

  • I think the thea is ready.

  • sounds like a long squeeky fart.....o_0

  • hey kan je ook een how-to maken hiervan?

  • noisy torch..

you neighbors like you every time you turn that thing on :P

  • what's that?? is an stupid experiment!!

  • WAIT! ALL THESE YEARS IVE BEEN MARRIED TO A PULSEJET AND I DIDNT EVEN KNOW IT!

  • The biggining of of invention... jet engine. It originated in Germany & Japan.

  • @maxinpains ....hmmm not sure what you mean by that. Thepulse jet was invented in France I think before WW1 and the Turbojet was Sir Frank whittle from Britain.

Germany produced the first operation jet plane and Japan produced a few prototype thermal jet engined powered planes... Either way I hate nationalism, I would rather attribute this success to the people and programs that funded them.

  • @CmdrTobs Is that what you read written by...Right? LOL

  • @maxinpains ?? what?

Just a quick Google and Wikipedia shows "The French inventor Georges Marconnet patented his valveless pulsejet engine in 1908"

And everyone knows Sir Frank whittle invented the Jet engine.

  • @maxinpains *sigh* Believe whatever makes you happy.

  • @CmdrTobs

lol I don't believe anything. I just don't believe anything from an one book says .I could write & publish anything .. LOL

  • id like to see it take off

  • I tried to make this and failed....it the same size chamber intake and exhaust, i get a single pop and thats all. FML

  • do you run air into it constantly? could you use a fan for compression? i guess you dont have an idea of thrust in lbs eh?

  • Hi I want to do one of these for a science fair project, I was wondering what did you use for fuel, and what did you hook your spark plug up to for power?

  • YAY! 1 whole pound of thrust!

  • Touch the pretty red part, you know you want to.

  • how much power would this have? like in pounds of push?

  • send me plans to make it, always wanted a pulse jet engine:D

  • bro...get the fuck out of the damn way!

  • sound like a girl being massacred

  • AAARHHHH...FIRE GOOD! MORE FIRE BETTER!

  • MOVE!

  • i want to make one but how do you get the spark plug to spark?? can neone help

  • @13bROT8N lol just try to find an old bbq an get the push button igniter off of it like he did

  • @13bROT8N With an ignition coil, an condensator , 12 Volt Batery and an switch.

Everytime you open the circuit it makes an spark.

  • stad back !!!!!

  • did you shorten the intake and exhaust?

  • Shop heater!!

  • lol for what you use this crap?

  • So, how much thrust does this produce?

  • sounds like a jet to me xD

  • Comment removed

  • @MSH280782 fuck you.

  • @MSH280782 what?

  • if it has enough thrust you should rc it on something.e.g. pland,car....etc....

  • I hear that noise on the 3rd of every month. Its called a Tornado warning test.

  • a gas powered whistle..

  • propane powered fire whistle

  • Very cool indeed

  • ok 1200hz thats nice, but i kinda wanted to see 20 KHz because at that amplitud the sound goes away for us.

  • you mean at that frequency. Amplitude of sound waves is just volume.

  • thanks i cant get them right, frequency is pulses per second, amplitude is the hight ?

  • Sounds like you're beating a dachshund to death!

  • looks like a chinese girl screaming damn it :|

  • @elchicoboy

    looks? :D

  • @euklid216 I've seen chinese girls screaming the same as this valveless pulsejet! lol

  • @elchicoboy

you mean it SOUNDS like a chinese girl screaming :)

  • @euklid216 lol exactly!

  • @elchicoboy Sounds*

  • What are you using to power the spark plug?

    How many volts or amps?

  • is a generic grill ignitor you can find them at menards

  • Why that small pipe gets some blue glow? Ionized?

How fuel feeds in? Is it pressurised gas?

Looks pretty cool. No moving parts. Keep going guys!

    Mind the Safety!

  • you need to tighten the head piece thats why its asqualing like a pig and wow i can barely hear when you head piece is loose it vibrtates and squals like a pig so just try tightening it

  • my speakers are gone, but still really nice litle jet you got there.

  • that amazing!!

  • Wow! Cute little design! How much thrust?

  • holy hell thats loud!!!

  • WHAT?

  • naw not death, def, you hit this shit twice and you wont be able to hear shit! lol

  • good old kat williams lol

  • Awesome! Now you just need a smaller, lighter spark plug and a titanium tube. You would have a hell of a thrust to weight ratio.

  • to go death? Do you mean deaf? Or do you mean to die?

  • the guy in blue makes a better door than window. :P

  • OLOL

  • @chaabanman lol thats what i was sayin. the guy in the blue is a complete DOUCHE BAG.

  • very cool

  • move that guys ass

  • how much propain are you using?

  • Sweet! A pulsejet Hair dryer, lol!

  • What is the thrust output for this engine?

  • 1.21 GIGAWATTS!!!

  • HAHA, by far the best comment on youtube!

  • You can see the spark plug through the meatl!

    YO

  • I dont get whats happening? someone send me a link on whats goin on here?

  • Its a wierd process but surorisingly simple.

Once you light the fuel and air it expands down the tube, decreasig the pressure in the combustion chamber. Then when the gasses are expelled out of the tube, air is rapidly sucked back into the chamber and the residual heat re-ignites it. All this happening over a 1000 times a second

  • capturing ur butt?

  • my dentist has one of this

  • be cool if you showed it in the dark.

  • How do you know the frequency that it is resonating at?

  • amount of peakes in the current from the sparkplugs min side i think i think

  • This is very nice try guys but i am working on something right now that will blow you away literally. I need to get the right mix of fuel plus oxidant flowing round my vehicle to cool it down and I really have something.

  • Really are you going to launch somthing in space? If so thats what i plan on doing also.I havent started yet but advice is welcome.

  • Woah hey same here. I would really like to meet someone with the same plans!

  • We should get together and exchange ideas.I will add you as a friend. :)

  • How are you measuring the frequency?

  • crack kills!!!

  • do you think i could make one from copper pipe like this one?

(why you need a spark plug)

  • no, it would melt down... best is 1.4301 because it also looks nice...

  • as you can clearly see it would melt the copper

  • dose the spark plug just push in or is it screwed into the combustion chamber?

  • I know this is a crazy question to alot of you but im just tryna learn. How do they get the spark plug to fire and stay firing?

  • It's only needed to start combustion, the hot gasses cause the fuel/air mixture to explode. That mixture is being pulled into the combustion chamber by the negative pressure caused by the previous ignition's exhaust gasses.

When the fuel/air mixture is pulled in, it evens out the "vaccum" caused by the exhaust gasses, and causes back pressure, bringing the hot gasses back. These gasses are hot enough to cause the mixture to ignite, repeating the cycle.

  • i have the same question but id like to follow it up with what the hell is the point in everyone building these things....what the hell are you gonna do with em....or are you just buildin them to have something to do...i want one and dont know why..

  • UAV

  • proof of concept - watching a theoretical engine actually work. 2 stroke engines are just as incredible, the rate a which gases have to flow in, compress, ignite, exhaust, resonate, and all at incredible speeds - seems a miracle they all work.

  • mig welded?

  • clever,so the right frequency sets it off ? hows it work ?

  • Sorry i'm new to this but could u make a pulse jet work off lpg Just a thought

    i'm from new zealand

  • I'm from west Philadelphia, born and raised

  • On the playground is where i spent most of my days

  • chillin out max and relaxin out cool

  • tell me, os the intake bigger or smaller in diameter than the thrust pipe?

  • looks like im makin me a ghetto one lol

  • Now all they need is a V-1 buzz jet to bomb England lol.

  • or if u just want to have fun

  • cool

  • how do you make it

  • that's cool, can you send me the dementions

  • what a pulse jet is it a type of wepon or motor???

  • its an engine, although it would be used in missles i would think....

  • It was used to power v1 rockets during WW2

  • COool ;)

  • hello mate any chance of some plans/info on helping me make one of these as my old man recons they cant work if they are stationary cheers

  • Any idea on thrust or is it all lost in the resonance?

  • little in size big in noise

  • the blue cloud is some of the burning acetyelene.and i have a suggestion, lol take off the vice grip

  • cool!how much thrust?

  • enough to pull you in the space if you attach it in your bicycle xD

  • Man I can only hope that vise is tight.

  • They generally don't generate much thrust despite the noise; They aren't very efficient... but I wish they measured it because I'm curious too.

  • This project is very cool anyhow! I would like to see a Hydrogen Peroxide engine like the old military torpedos.

  • they can create some useful thrust, the german v1 flying bomb was powered by an pulsejet.

  • There are several small aircraft powered by pulsejets, but unless you were to spend millions developing a state-of-the-art system, they are still too noisy and underpowered.

The airflow is so inefficient that they generally spew a lot of unburned fuel despite saving fuel by pulsing, and they can't change shape to properly maintain efficiency at different power levels. They are kind of a dirty novelty until someone refines the design, if you ask me.

  • What is the blue cloud you can see on the gas tube (upper part)

  • Secondary exhaust I think.

It's valveless, so it uses an "aerodynamic valve", a u bend as an intake. So thrust essentially comes out of 2 pipes.

That's my take at least. Any other suggestions?

  • Im not sure I know more about the valved kind of pulse jets but i would guess seeing as how its a "PULSE" engine it would have to be an engine that come out both ends of the pipes then alternates on and off to create that Whistling sound you hear.

  • by any chance, do you have any rc cars? if u do, that + 1 + a video lots of people would probably watch.

  • super video!

  • can it run on butane?

  • i was asking my self that

  • WTF? I cant watch it has it been deleted?

  • that a hella high pitch pulse jet

  • can u run it on propane?

  • it may be a bit small to run on propane the atmospheric pressure would nt support it on propane it needs a more explosive fuel to cause greater outer pressure to draw in air p.s i did not make the video i thought i would just answer you question hope this helps

  • oh ok. tnx

  • u should put it on a boat!

  • Amazing. Does it ever over heat? What do you power with it?

  • The interesting question would be what levels of thrust were you getting from it. The fact that it runs at 1200 Hz is neither here not there if it only produces the thrust of a sneezing gerbil.

  • the greatest tree,s all started from the smallest seeds

  • ha, it sounds like a die grinder

you should power an rc car with it

  • @ 1200hz thats a noisy little bugger!
