I got the 360 Slim today it was fine setting everything up, like profile,Wifi and xbox live, then i put the forza 3 game in and it crashed as i entered the lobby.second time it let me play a race and then crashed again when it went back to lobby. I put my hand to the side and It did seem very hot to me, so I put the console laying down. didnt help so turned it off.It was on for about 20- 30 minutes. It would be great to hear some feedback on my Issue. Reply to me any help would be great thanks
@DJ2RUD3 the fan vent on the side is pushing the hot air out thusly it will get hot if other parts are hot u may have a problem also mine did that at first too it was my wifi conn i hardlined at it cleared up. also the slim hardly has an overheating prob my xbox runs for hours like 12 hours straight cuz i use it for music movies games everything dam things always on and ive only ever had it crash once and that was from a picure falling off the wall on it and its still good lol

I might have been given a REPAIRED 1, because when held up the the light, see the metal heat sink,and looks scratched as if its been played arround with. Also i didnt know the power pack has a fan aswell,It kicked in 3 days ago,I thought why was it not working before. Your not meant to have the console on its side, there are now vents on the side, so your loosing all that side of cooling.... that could be one of the contributing factors..

So it gets better air- supply than the older generations.

If this is common for the Slim, it's a bad design.

The 360 is not overheating, it has a defective Graphics Card. A few years back, my first 360 had one of these problems, it is a defect that it shipped with, it is not overheating. Try restarting it, if that doesn't work, take it back to the retailer and tell them it was faulty. If that fails take it to Microsoft. The 360 is not overheating, it has a defective Graphics Card. A few years back, my first 360 had one of these problems, it is a defect that it shipped with, it is not overheating. Try restarting it, if that doesn't work, take it back to the retailer and tell them it was faulty. If that fails take it to Microsoft. Remember that an average 10% of consumer electronic products are sold faulty and must be returned.

@mizoelnemr11 no it does not have a red ring of death. it does have a red dot of death but there hasnt been any issues about it. and the xbox shuts itself off to prevent overheating

i just purchased the new xbox s b/c my old xbox usb port crapped out on me and they wanted 150 to fix it at microsoft , i bought it put it where my old was was under my tv in a space where the back is open n the side where the fan is has alot of room to breathe ive played games for hours n hours n havent had one problem just some times i think its broken b/c i cant hear a damn thing its so quite compared to the old one so everyone making up stupid excuses is bs
