@rebellya I dont think he wasted his talent at all he always had a dream of acting and he got his chance he may have not been proud of some of his films but he had to make them due to contracts he had dreams of touring the world as well but back then things were way different than they are now. Have you seen King Creole? maybe you should check that out and youll see not all his movies where the same

That said, not ALL of them were tacky. Change of Habit, while his last, is in the category of better films, and earlier on Parker (kind of) granted Elvis's request for more serious roles, and those are considered his best today: King Creole, Jailhouse Rock, Flaming Star, Wild in the Country (and Follow That Dream for comedy)
