The German army didn't kill Jews for fun. The German Army fought against Russia, America, and England. There were some parts of the government and military that set up the camps, but I don't think the average German soldier was doing anything except fighting in a stupid war.
Comparing people who were at the camps and regular soldiers is not valid. Not every soldier from Germany was involved in the holocaust, but Hitler did something very horrible to millions of people.
