he forgot about the mines. he was too wrapped up in the almost quad that he neglected to actually finish the song. it's a dumb mistake, yes, but it was his fault. you can't recalc it because he should have dodged the mines.

Very true. It's what happens when you get too cocky and forget something as trivial as avoiding mines. You'll ace the advanced stuff but completely forget the basics.
