His early solo albums will always rate "100% and pushing" as theyre totally unique. 40 years on and still nothing comes close to the creativity of this humble sweet man. I dont usually use the word but hes a "legend", (to me anyway). 1 dislike, Huh, Theres Always One
I was lucky enough to see Rory play in Milwaukee WI USA around 1972 or so...he has been an inspiration to me ever since...what an exceptional guitarist, singer, and person...gone too soon but never ever forgotten.
Why is it all the Great ones Pass. God must have a reason. But there is one thing, the music will always be here for us to love. I really miss Rory one of the best to serve us with the great music he gave us.R.I.P Rory.......
someone was sayin how that strat didn't sound good wat a lame fukin statement, it wud fetch a big dollar if it ever went on sale but yur rite it's on display'it's reputed to be the first strat in ireland.
I saw Rory in concert twice: 1972 at the Southsea Pier, Portsmouth, and the second was 1980 at the Lewisham Odeon. At the first gig his only amplification was a Vox AC30! At the second gig he was probably him at his best. The lead breaks were utterly hypnotic. I wonder who owns that stratocaster now...
I was lucky enough to see him once back in the 70's in Los Angeles with Status Quo and a band called Fandango he was amazing iv'e been a fan ever since i'm just sorry i never saw him live more than once. thanks for the post this is a great video.
@memtown agree memtown....a shell of his former self...and God Bless...he was friggin awesome in his day and prime...this video is actually sad to me...
tack, kanon bra. Började av en tillfällighet lyssna på Rory igen i somras när jag målade huset. På äldre dar gillar jag nu speciellt Rorys senaste inspelningar
This is awesome... but it's so different from the earlier live versions of this song... as if though they didn't really rehearse it a lot . Great solo.

He says "Merci beaucoup" with his Irish accent. This concert may have taken place in Paris. My guess would be "Taverne de l'Olympia" early nineties. You can see he's already very sick but man can he still perform!

The Strat is now the property of Rory's brother and resides in a museum. Google it for more info.

@larjanus Late 6 months but have to say this. This Strat has no owner other than Rory himself.

I like it, that every live perfomance of Rory sounds different. So it's really nice just clicking through the live perfomances on Youtube.
But that's a really strange version. So much gain. I like it...
PS: excuse my bad English please, greetings from Germany
R.I.P. Rory

It's not one of the best versions.
I think the version on the Irish Tour CD is one of the best!
