FACT: The year the ban was brought into being there were 30 bites from a certain breed of dog OF the THREE banned breeds (clumped together and labelled pit bulls) there was a total of 12. Shasta's BEAUTIFUL! Not only that, but she's given me back my life. She's done more for me than any human ever could & she's found cancer and other infections in other people too.

The Pit bull breeds are remarkable. Helen Kellar used one as her Companion Dog & many have died in order to save people.

They make excellent Therapy Dogs, Service & Guide Dogs, Drug sniffing dogs, Search & Rescue just to name a few.

I agree with you Touch of Magic, but if we can get a Canadian Registry of all dog bites and attacks which includes why this attack took place and the responsibility being on the owner, many of these criminals will get caught. Abusive and unresponsible owners of any dog will end up being charged and jailed, along with not being allowed to own a dog again.

Back yard breeders, puppy mills and dog fighting owners will be found out. The dogs will be rescued and go to good homes like they deserve.

When they are referring to Pit bulls, they are referring to all the four breeds together along with crosses and anything that looks simular.

We've fought that in court and the judge as ruled 'substancially simular' at this point.

The whole thing is there is no such breed as Pit bull and even the American Pit bull Terrier is not a recognized breed in Canada through the CKC.
