You can have a full penn weld with cuttin into the back, that's why tests usually use a backbar, that's why there ut tested for penetration, that's nice shop buildin those columns in, I weld structural and our shop bout 100 yrs old
I dunno about the weld quality-but ya got some good tunes rollin in the shop!!!! cored wire is ok, but I still dont think you can beat the overall strength of 18 wire. Not as finicky on verticals, either. cooler on the back of the paws!!!LOL god bless the men who glue the steel of this world together, all of ya!!!
that isn't a full penetration weld. in a full penetration weld, you weld one side then cut out the back to make sure you are welding to sound metal then weld it up.

Try Pulling FCAW .. FLUX CORE should always be pulled .. even with shielding gas

@ngnnaswrestler Hi buddy you are right ! but the full penn is located under the conecttion that's all and you migth see the backing plate on each !
