I have played around with the effects of dowsing rods and I can tell you there is a true reaction. What, How, and Why these reactions take place I can't explain but I'm sure, with that with research and training you can rule out guessing. People have been using these methods for hundreds of years with far better than a 50/50 chance of being on the money.
It's called dowsing and it's never been proved to work. in fact, do a search here on YouTube for a documentary called Enemies of Reason by Richard Dawkins. There's a portion where they test dowsers who all volunteered to be tested and genuinely believed they could do this, only to find that none of them performed any better than simply guessing. Also, look up the "ideomotor effect".
