  • how is she only 20? I can't even..

  • i just judged this in two seconds because i'm an amoral sloth.

  • dayummm, this is the ad you CAN'T skip

  • So beautiful.

  • 1:17 - marcus mumford?!?

  • @GABZandB yep

  • @GABZandB oh hell yes, he is. (:

  • A Medal of Honour advert before Laura Marling, really Youtube? It is a disgrace!

  • Beauitful

  • "Ripping off each other's clothes in the most peculiar way" - what a fantastic lyric...

  • She is the last of the english roses!

  • Great song. I'd love to hear her singing the Tilbury song 'Fall on Me'

  • Guy from mumford & sons her backing vocalist :]

  • @eddiemarriott they're also a couple.

  • eye to eye nose to nose sucking eachothers toes in the most peculiar way!

  • i would happily marry this woman

  • @TISMACHINE Marcus Mumford is gonna beat you to it :(

  • @aquilifer10 well cant think of a better man to go down to lol

  • i love laura marling. she is amazing.

  • Nice to see someone doesn't have to take their clothes off to sell music.

  • what's with the Irish accent - she's from Hampshire. Absolutely one of the best and most original singer song writers around at the moment. I love the whole album : )

  • @iamcosmichands It's her way of immersing in it. Take on a story/character.

  • whoooa i didnt know she did this originally then did it with mumford and sons and dhaorha

  • I am starting to get into this, I love it!!!

  • now thats what i call TALENT !! its refreshing to see someone that is ACTUALLY talented, unlike most of the music these days......lady gaga anyone ? or kei$ha

  • @kriztofff i do agree somewhat, but you cannot say lady gaga has no talent. look at any video of her singing with a piano, she's incredible. ke$ha on the other hand, talentless.

  • Just heard this on the intro to the Aussie Rules Grand Final tonight. Brilliant tune!!!!

  • @justinkatz441 same, and the pies won :D

  • Why is it some people automatically assume folk music is Irish? It just makes you sound uncultured.

This is good ENGLISH folk music. We do have a folk music tradition as well.

  • oh i love the vibes of this song, it reminds me of driving through massive empty landscapes...i hope she keeps this style of music, it's inspiring.

  • Oh, Laura, you're so beautiful. But why did you have to break NATW's heart?

  • everyone who's watched this video has taste in music.

  • @TheOlliebuchanan indeed we do:)

  • 0:28 since when did spiders have 4 fucking legs?

  • @whale0melette water spider i think. its legs stay close to each other when in the web or in the water.

  • @tinytim13434 thanks for the reply mr tim! i was trying to be funny though; im actually an entomologist haha. from the shape of it and the way its legs are held it will be a Araneus diadematus (garden spider) they oftain sit like that on their web.

water/raft spiders do not have webs as they hunt on the water ,but they do have the abilty to make silk- and do so when they have baby spiders (nursery web eek!)

    xx

  • This is just perfect:)

  • That was totally Mumford and Sons playing around the fire!

  • @LiamMcConnell1 It probably was since they are pretty close to each other

  • @1shivna1 yeah, last i heard Laura Marling and Marcus Mumford are dating.

  • More.

  • Seriously, how can she be so perfect?

  • if i had i choice i would marry this girl

  • In the video, is that mumford and sons round the camp fire near the end?

Either way this is an amazing song <3

  • @8meganb tis

  • @8meganb Absolutley, They have done a heap of work together. It's the Banjo that gives them away first! ; )

  • @8meganb yes it is

  • I absolutely adore Laura!

She makes me proud to be English!

  • @missroxypoxy she makes me proud to be human

  • @missroxypoxy She makes me wish I were English!

  • I like Laura Marling because she doesn't dance around half-naked in her music videos. It's lovely.

  • @perfectlylonely y not dow?

  • @perfectlylonely I think I'd prefer if she did.

  • @perfectlylonely

    :)

    Refreshing, isn't it?

  • @perfectlylonely That's a stupid reason to love a musician for... how about her music??

  • @perfectlylonely And even if she did, the music would still sound just as bad-ass. Great stuff.

  • woow

  • 1:48-2:18 Love That Part.

  • more proof that darkness and heaviness in music can be expressed outside metal.

good music is good music regardless of it's supposed genré

  • After hearing this, I feel like 'the angel spoke' to me :P

  • I, personally, felt that it was Laura Marling who deserved the Mercury Music Prize of 2010 - she's an incredibly talented musician/artist and 'I Speak Because I Can' is without a doubt one of the best albums I've ever heard.

Still, she's been nominated *twice* for that award - that - for me, counts more than a win at the end of the day :)

I wish Laura Marling all the success in the world because she's so, so, sooo wonderful (and I don't say that lightly!).

    This song is just perfect.

  • o shes amazing must get her album i thought she was that other woman who has a whistle for a chorus song out at the moment this is 100 times better

was she on jools holland show yet? shed be perfect for it new series maybe!

  • o shes amazing must get her album i thought she was that other woman who has a whistle for a chorus song out at the moment this is 100 times better

  • @Beoy999 That would be Eliza Doolittle.

  • She should have won the Mercury Music Prize!

  • Those eyes on 2:42 are very fitting, and deadly.

  • Wow!!! Very powerful.

  • I found her from Johnny Flynn, thank God for them both! =D

  • love it when she sings like the woman from the cranberries

  • @CHAOINGTON If you play it backwards she says "Zombie, Zombie, Zombie"!

  • Wow, such a wonderful voice and beautiful music. I found out about her after discovering the one and only Mumford & Sons. Whom I love dearly and greatly admire. She is so talented, glad to see them working together!!!

  • MARCUS!!!!!

Laura and Marcus's voices mix so beautifully.

  • love this lady so much...simply amazing voice....would sound great on the Wickerman Sound Track!

  • ...i regret only finding her music now. brilliant stuff

  • Shes so pure when she sings

  • 1:18 hey its Marucs! lol

  • Amazing song! I saw her play a great set at Hop Farm.

If you like Laura's music you might also like my music. I'm an alt-country songwriter based in the UK. Check out the vids on my profile and let me know what you think!

  • Marcus- waaa!

    Lucky, lucky lady.

  • @MissSheepgobaa D: couldnt agree more!

  • I never thought i would love again. wow.

  • Why is she so breathtakingly astounding and beautiful?

  • Bert Sommer eat your heart out.

  • Laura's my favorite.

  • is she irish?

  • @zapbolt English. Her info says she's from Eversley. Look at a map of England, and look for London, go West to Reading, and follow the A327 South to Eversley. :)

  • she looked so much better blonde. but i love her nonetheless. awesome song. awesome woman.

  • I don't know anyone better at what she does. The music, the lyrics, the sentiment- all equally amazing. She is also really hot, and I'm guessing a wonderfull wreckhead

  • Her voice is amazing.

    This song is astounding.

She looks so different now,I loved her blonde hair but she does look much more mature as a brunette <3

  • Saw her live on the weekend at Splendour in the Grass..........Absolutely amazing!!!!!

  • it's hauntingly beautiful!

  • Seen her live .. amazinq ;)

  • This is exactly the kind of video I'd expect with this song.

And for some reason, I felt like I had just fallen in love when the camera panned out to show her on the prairie with the drum at her side.

  • umm, obviously 31 people are blind, deaf, or just stupid

  • Such amazing music (:

    hits you deep down

  • 0:00 to skip ads

  • @v1den or f5

  • @1foofighter606 giving the lazy people a link to click :P

  • I used to like her but now I do not like her so much, because too many other people like her now

  • @incongra thats a dumb reason..

  • @incongra thats so stupid....

  • @incongra- Your loss (:

  • @incongra That's silly not to like a singer just because she's become popular

  • @incongra haha such a lame thing to say... if it's good music its good music my friend... success isn't a bad thing.. it's music that's bad.. If you write good music only good people will enjoy it.

  • I think about 100 of these views are mine from listening to this song so much. It's a wonderful song (and video).

  • Here is true talent.

She blows every pop artist out of the water.

  • it brings out my irish soul...xxxx

  • @1977crusher same here ^,.,^

  • @1977crusher - It's good that an English woman can do that for you. A Hampshire lass ,too!

  • Damn, this is fucking amazing.

  • reaching to generations both past and future....dang but this takes me outside of myself...the most peculiar way...hell yeah.

  • A second mercury nomiation, lets hope she wins it this year..... or not, artists have a habit of dropping off the face of the earth when they win and nobody want that for laura.

  • Don't you think a lot of female singer songwriters sound like this? It's really good but on a first listening, I'd think it was any one of them singing.

  • @Varsouviana that's ridiculous. laura is incredibly unique, and her voice is so much more mature and so much better than any singer-songwriter out there. i think it is so stupid to say she sounds like anyone else! i think you need to expand you musical taste and notice real talent like this. lady gaga getting to you?

  • @Varsouviana Yea I know what you mean, I feel the same way about cats, dogs, humans, and other things of the same species. It's strange that they have a note of similarity.

  • i am yours till they come<3

  • 30 people missed the like button. Bastards.

  • Incredible Indian-Celtic Fusion - she's amazing in so many ways

  • she so much better live

  • Saw Laura play at T in the Park. Amazing.

  • Love<3<3<3

  • her voice is AMAZING! she reminds me of Mumford & Sons, but still has her own thing. Me gusta

  • Oh my god. Hello, dream girl! she's gorgeous. but to mention mind-blowingly (word?) talented.

  • i can't explain what i feel when i listen her music, it's just amazing

    i love Laura Marling

  • I'm so glad there still some REAL music out there!

  • I wish she stayed blond!

  • @goodcabbage I saw her Saturday at the Hop Farm festival.

    She was blonde.

  • @Alphabetting i was there two (: it was amazing wasn't it x x x

  • @MollyDollyMadGurl I thought she was the best there. Although.. Pete did come on with a fag and a wine bottle. Lad. IM still trying to figure out why those dancers were there hah.

  • Dougie Maclean anyone?

  • Comment removed

  • @Alphabetting Was that comment directed @goodcabbage? XP Never said she wasn't.

  • amazing song, beautiful voice, awesome lyrics ... apart from that .....

  • is she english or american hehee? <3

  • @grimesypop Quintessentially English!

  • So amazing

  • she is fucking amazing! Her music! i love it!

  • this is amazing! it sounds like the old folk songs from Appalachia or something. :D

  • is that Marcus Mumford i saw at 1:17??

  • @smile21jonno Could be, I read somewhere that he's her boyfriend?

  • @smile21jonno yup they are seeing each other

  • @smile21jonno the keyboardist from Mumford and Sons is in shot a few seconds before also

  • Her lyrics are expressively wonderful.

  • fucking rad :)

  • love her voice and music!

  • this song has a lot of fire in it I love it :D

  • this is so great!1

  • Lowlands :D

  • I first heard her on Last.fm's Discover. This song just stood out from all the over new songs that were played. I love the sound.

  • pretty strong presentation - only wish the lip-sync were a live vocal instead. but, why the hell did she sign with EMI? didn't anyone tell her?

  • Ben Lovett is in there, as well as Marcus Mumford! Gotta love the fact that M&S and Laura work together so often.

  • @tulipina2328

it's because they are in a relationship!

  • @Kelhutchy

She said her current boyfriend is a Somerset farmer.

  • @fieldnorth

Marcus comes from a farming family and his real surname is really not mumford either, they're definitely in a relationship.

  • @tulipina2328 lol I was gonna say reminds me of Mumfords and Sons

  • @tulipina2328 Psst. They're banging.

  • @tulipina2328 isn't she married to one of them?

  • she is so pretty and her voice is well sexy.. very good

  • Not many people out there make rich and deep sounding blue grass style music like this. Lily Allen is good, but this is so much more of a meal.

  • Why does everyone class a musician or band "Overrated" as soon as they become popular? What ever happened to 'Thou shalt not start disliking a band just because they've become popular"? Doesn't anyone here listen to Scroobius Pip?

  • wow.

  • There is no other band/artist i would rather see live than Laura Marling. Look forward to her coming to Adelaide.

  • @Strokers01 I'm seeing her in Sydney :) It would be so amazing if Mumford & Sons were there too...pretty unlikely, I guess, but it would still be awesome. I'm so excited, it's going to be incredible.

  • @theRockabillyRhino It wouldn't seem that unlikely, they're both in town at the same time

  • @DamnArms12345 I figured that, since Mumford & Sons are a lot more famous than Laura in Australia, them being at her gig would upstage her a bit, but maybe not...

  • Ugh, so in love.
