I think it depends on how many firewire devices you have. If you have a ton of them getting a Macbook is probably not a practical upgrade.

apple - start using better quality screens in these macbooks - the vertical viewing angles are crap and that's no exaggeration. reviewers please keep mentioning this issue- it's a shame that most even 5 year old PC laptop screens have better viewing angles than these macbooks.

I own one and noticed that if properly calibrated, the screen is pretty good - worlds apart from the default factory setting. Regarding the viewing angles, the vertical viewing angles is indeed not very good but not that bad - pretty much similar with 90% of the other windows laptops out there. The horizontal viewing angle however is much better then my old white Macbook.

2 downsides worth serious noting

1> aluminum body interferes with Wifi signal sometimes (mainly range)

2> While running vista, the new trackpad behaves erratically and makes navigating ridiculous unless you plug in an external mouse.

aside from that, love the lappy =D go apple

actually im an owner of a macbook pro im actually very happy with the wi fi signal i have had an older macbook pro and the wi fi signal in the new one is much much better atleast with the older macbook pros the wifi was in the screen area and just a gues, because of how thin the screen is it doesnt effects it i can tell you that in my house that is fairly large (5,000 squareft) i can get a full signal (using an apple airport) in the furthest point in my house while the airport is in the basement

if i'd been living under a rock for the last 5 years, at first impression i would have thought the white macbook was the newer one. i think its a step down with the design. i know they have this whole "unibody" thing going on and its supposed to be sturdier and stuff, but it makes it look more generic and pc-like in my opinion..anyone else agree? no offense i LOVE apple!

no it really is LED screen...and the graphics well they dont have the integraded ones from intel anymore its the nvidia 9400 Gforce which is 5x faster than the previous ones!!!

well the trackpad is one of its main new features. and what else would you want him to say that you can't find out on the apple website? the main new thing that affects the user thinking about buying this laptop is the new trackpad. basically everything else has just got an aesthetics boost.
