  • Haven't heard this before or of Rickie Lee Jones - Blown away by the intimacy in the lyrics and performance. Beautiful. Great Post

  • I need to buy this CD. I can hear it here anytime but if this recording is on it, I want to own it for myself!

  • Cuts right through . . .

  • Love this song so much. This is wonderful, but here's the mark of true greatness, the album version is actually better :). Takes nothing away from this performance though, it's just unusual.

Funny, the compression artifacts of the streaming resolution actually create some sustained harmonics that almost sound like the backing vocals on the album version.

  • The most talented lyricist since Laura Nyro. An absolute genius, A terrible dresser.

  • Absolutely the Dutchess of Coolsville. Her voice and words are so easy and natural, like talking to an old friend.

  • does anyone have the tabs for this song?

  • Heartbreaking . . .

  • Look at her smile at the end there, when she repeats "you are the sweetest boy I know". He really must be. This is sad, simple and elegant. Beautiful.

  • Not only a great song. But i love that full guitar-sound and that whispering voice!

  • greatly played....

  • this is simply bliss....to bad that today's "music scene" ignores great talent-instead they try and fill our heads with manufactured crap--love you rickie!!

  • simply breathtaking...one day i would like to be able to put love and loss into words, just like this...

  • so beautiful

  • Beautiful..

  • She never ceases to amase. I'm so glad to hear a beautiful, hurtful song put to such just a accousical guitar. It could not have been done any better, not by anyone else. I'm crying as I write this. RLJ, You are the best!

  • fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I saw her Princeton do this song two months ago. Rickie is getting better as she ages. Hopefully we all do the same.

  • just beautiful. i had never heard this song before...and it brought tears to my eyes.

  • I too love this, makes me sad too..

  • Same here. I heard this on npr on the way to the gym and it choked me up. She just puts herself out there with every word

  • Thanks for posting this. It's such a naked song.

  • LOVE this song! Tender, beautiful.
