I love his demos but the clips and video distortion makes me crazy; I'm just interested in the f:ing synth demos; I need to concentrate on the synth in order to decide a purchase! LOL
Keep them coming without the clip-ins because your doing a great work, Jexus! :-)
@Aetila He's just adding some artistry and personal character to his clips! Jexus i love it don't change your style, clips or synth playing/programming for anyone you are perfect.
I own this and a Waldorf Q which make perfect complements to each other. The JX brings just enough analog, straightforward grit to the party while the Q brings that unpredictable, clean, precise digital powerhouse that can be used for literally anything. *sigh* I'll never need another synth again.
@MrTamiya89 Uhhhhh.... Are you freaking high? It's intentional. It's called a post-modernistic retro look, and requires a very talented bit of editing. Olo- Good job, man, as always!
An underrated machine. Killed by it's "interface from hell". Only with the optional programmer, it suddenly starts to come alive! (and guess what is the most expensive and hard to get a hold of 2nd hand??)
Strange as it's only got 6 voices! (don't let the 8P fool ya). I've got an 8P and a 3P - the 3P is far closer in sound to the Juno 60 cos they share the same filters, 8P is 'softer' less edgy. All different synths. Junos are over rated, JX's are under rated. JX-3P is the best JX though, then 8P.
Btw this works fine with a generic midi control box (BCR) no need for expensive PG800!
I like the way you splice the Robocop 80s type video clips into your videos m8 and the video aging effect and let me just say that you have made the jx8p sound easily as nice as the Juno 106, if not better.
This is blew my mind. Incredible demo!!! If someone simply has blood in his veins should wish to have one os this....
In my country, there is only one guy selling a JX8P, who is asking... $1000.- but here every dollar is almost 4 time more expensive. In short, you find in an aution site a JX8P for $3800.- Is ab solutely sick, more considering in US you can get one for $300
Great stuff... Love the Roland JXs (3P, 8P and Super JX), not so keen on the other 'name only' JX's though. Got the 3P and 8P and can't really get rid of either as they are both useful in different ways. :)
That's the optional PG-800 programmer box Roland made for this synth back in the 80's. It provides real time control over all the sound parameters at once, instead of having to dig through menus to get to only one parameter.
Another fun video showing off a great synth. The controller is a must for this synth. At the time the JX series came out the slider and knobs were disappearing because of cost and were replaced with multi screens. Thanks, that brought back many memories.
Brilliant video and original sounds! I do not think many are actually aware of how brutal these "cheap" old 80's synths can sound. Thank you for sharing your wisdom with the rest of the world. Amen
You could do some extra money selling this master pieces of Synth Patch Programing!....
You´re awesome!... Just tell me... How can I get them?.

Hi Olo!
It would be really cool if you could do a demo of Roland D50 + it programer the PG 1000
and it would be even cooler to see and hear what a master like you can do with the D50 and the PG 1000 :-)
Love your demos, keep up the good work................

A totally unique and different beast than any other Roland, yet a very powerful and fat analog synthesizer, this is one of my all times favorites!
