@litdan Latency measurement for videogame developers. By recording the lightboard and the screen at the same time (usually with a high-speed camera), you can see the delay between when a user presses a button and when the game reacts to the input. It's important to reduce this lag as much as possible, otherwise the game can appear sluggish or unresponsive.
i think the LED display should have a picture of the xbox controller and the led should be in the proper place on the controller picture so it will be much cleaner. But anyway good work!
@PPXEXE Yeah but then what? I loves me some Melee, but what would you need a gamecube controller monitor for? If you're hellbent on it, I'd suggest building your own since it's actually a pretty good project if you're just starting out in electronics.
@tarsius4 I don't need it for motion gaming, i need it for controlling the sensitivity of the controls, and buttons. I've never build anything electronic before so i doubt i'd get far.
@PPXEXE His device doesn't allow you to adjust the sensitivity of the controller or the game. It's a product for game developers who need to tune the controls to make their game more playable. And actually, it's not all that difficult to do what he's doing here (making it a great starter project). A simple version of this that YOU could make would just involve mounting some LEDs on a board and then soldering a wire for each LED onto each switch in the controller. You should give it a shot!
So this is for when you're trying to prove a game's timing is broken and no one believes you and says you're just not doing it right and want to prove them wrong?
Wouldn't the arduino create lag in the response? It seems to me like going straight from the controls (like in earlier revs) is the best way to go about this.
Did you need to disable any internals or cut them out? Also did you use a pull-down resistor for each control? Thanks!
