  • My Mother and Grandmother use to take this trolley to Columbus to visit my great Great Grandmother. So thankfull for the post my mother is 90 and she will love It!

  • I wonder if Warren Harding ever rode the CD & M from Marion (His home town) to Columbus?

  • @boazrg Harding may have taken a ride on the CD&M but I don't know if it is documented or not.

  • This video seems to be from the early thirties, judging from the men's clothes, and the fact that these CD&M high speed parlor cars were ordered in the late 1920's. All CD&M service ceased in 1933, after the Cleveland, Southwestern, and Columbus electric line ceased operations, which deprived CD&M of it's profitable Columbus to Cleveland overnight freight service. One CD&M parlor car, like the one shown in the film, is preserved at the Ohio Railway Museum at Worthington, Ohio. .

  • @boazrg You are right about the time frame ( 1929ish ) and thanks for your comment.

  • This is so awesome! Where did you find it? Do you have any more old videos of Marion? Have a good one and enjoy the snow!! :)

  • This would be a useful means of transportation for "green" living in today's world. Good history review for this area.
