Great job! Isn't it a wonderful experience performing with other young musicians?
I didn't know that Cello could easily slip!
I remember a couple of years ago that Vivian's piano bench slipped away when she was performing in front of about 50 guests! She was using both feet for the pedals!
I don't think it would have slipped ordinarily, but we just found out that afternoon that the rubber stopper on his endpin was lost! I had the rockstop ready to bring to the recital, but as usual forgot it again on the way out, it was my fault(oops). Poor Vivian, but the show must go on, and she probably did so well. I hope she didn't slip and fall on the floor!
I know, right? We like it too! The arrangement is by someone named MATT TURNER. The publisher of the music is Latham Music and it contains 4 Christmas pieces:
Up on the Housetop
Jolly Old St. Nick
Silent Night
Jingle Bells
Tbey only played Silent Night and now I am curious to hear the other arrangements also!
That adaptation is full of very strange harmonies. Impossible, withut the score, to tell that anything went wrong. I think that the Quartet did very well, including Gabriel.
Yes, the arrangement was very different! When he was told that they were to play Silent Night, we figured 'ok, Silent Night no big deal' but then he saw the score and started rehearsals and said 'Oh no!' LOL.
P.S. Jonathan played the concerto in a minor by Saint-Saens once again and it was brilliant, but I was requested not to put up videos of the students (except for my kids, of course) as they will be putting up their own YouTube channel. Hopefully I can direct you to that site once it is up! I have just heard from his mom that he's decided to take up music as his major in college! He is currently a junior in HS.
