  • when you cocoon your self does the inside of your hammock build up condensation?

  • I looked at their web page and i'm not sure which hammock i'm supposed to be looking for.

If i understand it correctly then you are actually using the "double" size and this is what's giving you the extra fabric?

Or is it a specific design?

I'm just not sure which one it is

  • @BravingTheOutDoors Mine is the double hammock.

  • I liked the trick with the pocket. Ill use it.

  • @hotrodjrod

I was just fooling around. Boo!

  • Cheers Sean it looks good!! Thanks for this.

  • great vid sean

  • Good review Sean .. I LOVE my Trek Light.. One of the best purchases I've ever made..

  • Sean you’ve talked me into trying my hammock again. I tried one year and like you, had decided I was not a hammock hanger so I went back to ground dwelling. Now I’m going to have to give it a go again. I must say too, your hammock is much larger than the single I currently have. Being able to completely enclose yourself is pretty cool and the price it pretty reasonable. Thanks for showing it to us.

  • Thats a great Idea!Thanks for sharing!!

  • Great video I'm thinking of buying a hammock. Do you know the weight of the hammock? Either in oz or grams. Thanks, wtr7

  • @wtr7 The Double Hammock weighs only 20oz, the Single weighs 16oz

  • That was close to 20 yrs ago...now it seems to be too "Americanized"....With as busy as you stay, keeping us all entertained with your knowledge, I hope you can find the time. Who knows, we may never see The Silver Fox again..LOL

  • Ok great stuff Sean. Now i have to order me one from Dave.I also need to sleep flat but since i seen your review i think this might work for me.I also like the mosquito protection wich i am always worried about in a hammock. Thanks again.

  • Hammocks are the way to go. When I was 18 I spent almost five months living in the jungles of Costa Rica...in a jungle hammock...loved it!

  • @hanslollick93

WoW! What an experience. I intend to visit a jungle one day.

  • great video. glad to have met you at the gathering.

  • Great piece of a kit!

  • Great review Sean. I am going to go for my first hang this weekend with my new Eno Hammock. really looking forward to it.

  • Thanks Sean. It does look like a good product but here in Canada, in the summer, mosquito netting is a must!

    Nate

  • Great demo Sean, nice one mate.

  • Personally when I lay in the same hammock I have it like this | and I lay like this \ (if that makes any sense)

  • Great review Sean. Happy to hear you're loving your Trek Light Hammock! As some of the commenters have pointed out, you can get even flatter in the hammock when you sleep by shifting your body to a slight angle across the hammock. You just need to hang the hammock loose (I'd hang it even a bit more curved than you do in this video) and you'll be able to lie almost perfectly flat while keeping the sides loose. Check out the post 'The Hammock Angle' on our site for a more detailed explanation!

  • Great video Sean. I have to agree. I you don't like sleeping in a hammock then you are probably not using it properly. I have one with the netting built into it and holds up to 400lbs. If you don't want to use the netting, then you flip it over and use it on the other side with the netting on the bottom. Plus with the netting on the bottom, you can put your wet clothes in it and let it air dry thru the netting. Skeeter Pro sells for about 65 usd.

  • Check out Professor Hammock's channel he suggests a great number of mods you can make. Shug Emery is also a lot of fun :)

  • nice review sean. if you want to swap the suspension lines have a look at uk hammocks site they do a good set of woopy slings and other accessories for hammocks. they are uk based and have excellent service, or catch them at the wilderness gathering this year.

  • ;-) very cool, great with the closing technique! Thanks and all the best, Sepp

  • Hi Sean, Yeah man, my Trek Light Hammock is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Of the three hammocks I own the Trek Light is the most comfortable. Trek Light does sell a mosquito net for their hammocks and I'm planning on getting one this Summer. I've done a couple of reviews on my Trek Light Hammock, you can view them on my channel. Oh, I'm 6 foot 3 inches and weigh 230 pounds. Thank you for the video.

  • Looks like a nice product.

    Sweet dreams :)

  • hey were do you do all of your bushcrafting stuff because i live in the south west and wanted to know if there was any wood near by or anything to get out and try bushcraft (total novice lol) ? thanks

  • @surfertom123

I have permission to use different woodland areas on the Mendips.

  • I use my DD frontline hammock just the way you set your DD hammock up and it works great for me. As always thank you for all your video's and suggestions. This seems to be another great system.

  • I love that hammock i think that is the best thing i have ever bought for sleeping. The weight limit for the hammock is 400lbs

  • I was wondering what people think about a hammock for two. Whenever I am out in the forest I have my seven year old with me. I need something that both of us would be comfortable in.

  • If Im going to camp in an area where I am part of the food chain, the hammock is going to somehow be 8 or 10 feet off the ground and I have no idea how I would do that.

  • You could increase your comfort in the hammock in a couple of ways. First lay on a diagonal and that will allow you to lay almost completely flat. Second, ditch your sleeping pad and hang a blanket on the outside of the hammock so that it is tight to the hammock along all edges. This will really up the comfort factor. Third replace the stock ropes and use something that doesn't stretch like a polyester rope or something dyneema based and then hang your hammock at 30 degrees from horizontal.

  • for an even better/flatter sleep, lay on the diagonal

  • Looks great but I think you will get condensation inside when cool, moist weather!

  • have you tried a hennessy hammock?

  • @idonegotold

No I haven't. They look pretty good.

  • @seanmulhall They are, you can lay pretty flat in them because of their shape. You should checkout the ultralite model if you get a chance.

  • Is it a single or a double Hammock?

  • @Survial9999 double

  • but isn't that bad for your spine?

  • it's alive :)

  • Good choice for a hammock man! You'll find that switching out the suspension with something much better will give you an even better hang. You had a lot of stretch there from when it was empty to after you got in. hammockforumsdotnet has great info on setting up your rig. A good suspension makes all the difference. My grand trunk UL was the same way. The original suspension was pathetic :o) arrowheadequipment, webs, com has good prices on webbing and cinch buckles. Or whoopie slings. Good start.

  • Good review Sean. Thanks for posting.

  • Do you not risk your breath condensing on the inside of material like that and it dripping on to you by the end of a night?

  • @liammears

Not so far, but I have only used it this summer whilst the weather is warm.

  • @liammears That has never happened to me. If it's cold enough for your breath to condense on your hammock, you don't want to be sleeping in your hammock anyways ;-)
