  • i went in to see my doctor and he showed me this video. will try and leave comment later.

  • I had my first (horrifying, until I figured out what it was) experience with vertigo on Christmas morning yesterday, and this video helped tremendously. Thank you for sharing this with the world. I don't know when the episode will be completely over, but at least I'm not spinning. I did get nauseous after doing this right after I got up this morning, but am much better now.

  • First I had this maneuver with doctor's help, it was very quick movement and didn't help at all. Then I searched online and found this "slow version" of Epley maneuver. It worked for me! Thank you so much for this video!

  • I tried this and nothing really happened. Makes me think my doctor was wrong.

  • I have the "rocking boat" sensation all the time for about 2 months now- will this help? I've had all kinds of tests done and they have found nothing.

  • This helps for positional vertigo! - please people, SEE A DOCTOR to make sure the vertigo isn't caused by anything else - youtube does not replace a doctor visit!

  • I woke up with vertigo one morning much to my dismay. Did not know what to do for about 10 days until I finally looked it up on line and found this video. A miracle occurred. After one run though of the Epley Maneuver done as suggested in this video it went away. Whoopee! Thank yo so much for posting this!

  • This video just worked wonders for me. Literally 15 minutes after dinner, I couldn't move my eyes without feeling the room spinning. I slept 11 hours and woke up with the same feeling. Tried this technique and I feel 99% better. This thing works. Only a slight headache and extremely minor dizziness, but it's crazy how much better I feel.

  • As Menier patient this maneuver would only make it worse, during an attack the vertigo is so bad I cant even move my eyes without throwing up, moving my head would certainly be a good way to empty my stomach in a bucket, and more as it will probably already be empty when I was considering t move my head. So thanks, but no thanks! I will just lie down on my bed and wait till it is over.

  • THANK YOU!!!

This video saved my life! My doctor was amused I self diagnosed and treated myself with this video at my visit.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

  • How often should i do this on a day?

  • @Zottyo

The Epley's maneuver should be performed 3 times per day until you are free from vertigo for 24 hours. To my knowledge the Epley's maneuver is designed for a type of vertigo called BPPV, caused by a Otolith (stone in the posterior semicircular canal). This maneuver helps move the stone from the semicircular canal and therefore helping with vertigo. This will not help with Meniere's, as others have eluded to.

  • just did this, i got super dizzy, i sat on my bed wishing it would go away, it didnt. i ran to the bathroom and puked. im in bad shape :'(

  • I see some people saying they do this before going to sleep for the night. Is there a suggested position for sleeping? or at least a suggested 'starting' position for sleeping? THANK YOU so much poster...and to all the comment'ers too. I hope it works.

  • Thank you for sharing this video,it's very helpful to me! I translated the procedure into chinese, hope this can help more people who has the same problem. If my translation have any mistake, please tell me.

  • I have just started to do this exercise let see improvements only i feel little normal, although i have no vertigo full attack but i am imbalance in certain position and dizziness, so let me see how i will improve; hope fully...

  • Can dizziness be cause by sunlight too? My eyes hurt and my head get dizzy whenever the sunlight hit me. Can this be cause by lack of drinking water, cause I don't drink alot of water?

  • I understand you are supposed to sleep in a recliner - not all the way down - for two nights to maintain the results.

I'd never be able to sleep, so I repeat when I again feel dizzy.

  • OMG! This does work. Give it the full two minutes each step. I had vertigo for 9 days, went to the doctor, found out about the Epley maneuver, but couldn't find anyone who would simply do it without lengthy testing, consultation, and 500 dollars out of pocket not covered by insurance. Some of these specialists treat this like a well-guarded secret that only they can dispense. Well, the cat's out of the bag! Thank you for posting this video.

  • I don't understand why but after 2 times using this example I have had no spinning when lying down and getting up. Prior to this each time I got out of be I had to lay back down because the room was spinning crazily. I hope this lasts.

  • vertigo sucks! i wanna go skiing!

  • This is a good treatment for patients who suffer from "benign paroxysmal positional vertigo", where there is a buildup of debris in the inner ear. It is also the most common cause of vertigo with no obvious cause.

  • I had my 1st vertigo episode on 07/09/10. I found this exercise and decided to try it. After 4 days of doing this 3 times a day I felt a type of "swoosh" noise in my right ear and vertigo was gone. thank God. I still suffer from dizziness and when it get very bad, I do this exercise and it helps. I highly recommend this exercise. Keep at it, don't give up.

  • My wife was having spinning episodes for a couple months. she was so concerned that her doctors office ordered several thousand dollars of tests to determine the cause of her dizzy spells... they suspected vertigo... I found this video on utube. She did this procedure for 2 days and was cured...she called the doctors office and canceled all the tests that had been ordered... when we shared this information with some of our friends who have similar symptoms and it worked for them. this works

  • This is truly an amazing thing. For years I have suffered from dizziness periodically and it used to last months. Now I do this procedure once and it's GONE! My chiropractor explained that small calcium deposits in the inner ear create the dizziness by irritating the small hairs, and this procedure moves them out of the inner ear. Fantastic!! Thank you for a great post!

  • Epley's Maneuver realy worked for me the very first time my dizziness and heavy head went away. Thanks for posting

  • i have it since december of 2009 with vertigo the 15 for be exact i was a little dizzy and i passed out just once but then i did many treatments and many pills everything and they told me that the problem is in my right ear and i think it is true uhhh and i only have 17 years old this is awful

  • I was in the chiropractor's office being treated when the room starting spinning uncontrollably. I couldn't even lift my head 2 inches off the table without spinning! I had to be transported to the ER by ambulance for a 3 day stay in the hospital! 10 days later it wasn't much better until I found this exercise and tried it. My vertigo is now completely gone. Thank you so much for sharing this AMAZING "cure"! I'm even able to exercise again with no signs of dizziness whatsoever.

  • I've got problems for years with dizziness and vertigo. Not always noticeable when I lay down but extremely hard to cope with when I walk around at work or at home. I've done all kinds of blood tests and they were all perfect. It's like I can feel how it all originates from inside my head. I'm a smoker (10-15 cigs per day) and have been drinking (for periods heavily, mostly beer though) for years but recently stopped.

Is it possible I've got some inner ear problem or could it be something else?

  • I have had vertigo like symptoms for a while. I have been diagnosed with various things...have taken Antivert and a couple other meds. I just tried a couple different manuevers on YouTube, including this one, and it seemed to help a bit. All I can say is thanks. It's hard living when the world feels like I am moving for 5 seconds after I stop actually moving.

  • Yeah.....I did it twice. But I think it worked for me after 1 time. I'm very thankful for this amazing treatment. Crossing my fingers the dizziness is gone for good.

  • I tried it once......and it seems to work. My question is: How long(how many times) should I continue to do this procedure.....if I continue on symptom free? Thanks in advance.

  • @jjacintoful ..well...it worked with me after one time....yes...as long as the symptoms disappear... please update us with how it goes....this post has been really useful....good luck:)

  • heyy, my head (well, the entire room) only spins when I'm lying in bed with my eyes closed trying to fall asleep, would this help if I did it before bed?

  • I got vertigo a month back ...one day I got up from sleep - I experienced this spinning sensation out of the blue. The spinning would remain for almost seconds and everything would become standstill. Went to see the ENT Specialist -prescribed Betaserc but nothing really improved. Came across this post.Decided to give it a try. Amazed to find that my vertigo disappeared.I am fine since the past two weeks now, and when I bend or sleep - do not sense it anymore.Really an amazing post.Big thanks

  • hey guys for those who have done this, did you guys have to repeat this procedure maybe 2-3 times in a row or just once was all that was needed???

  • @judge218 Hi ! You will notice a major improvement after one time. I identified the ear the gave me the trouble ( which side triggers the spinning more?) .It was my left ear so I did the above procedure - by starting with the left side - . Just do it exactly - per the instructions - and avoid the positions that trigger the vertigo for a week or 10 days... When you sleep - keep a pile of pillows - and the back should be slanting - 45 degrees. Good luck...

  • how often should you repeat this procedure? i have done it 2 times in one day now and it allready feels better

  • @haugstrup

I did 3 sets of this exercise just before going to bed as suggested on another site so you can just go straight to sleep just in case it causes more dizziness. I'm fine the following day, I can do my regular tasks but will still feel light headed for 2 more days but it is now completely gone after 3 straight night of doing it. (3 sets per night)

  • I think this video just cleared my dizziness! I did it on one side in the morning, then the other side in the afternoon, 'half sat up' all night, and NO diziness the next few days! I'm hoping I'm cured... Finding this video has been like a miracle! thanks for sharing something so clear, easy, and works!

  • These videos are absolute miracle for me as i had done yesterday and today and my vertigo and dizziness is improved and i am hoping to continue these exercise untill i recovered completely.

  • My Doctor diagnosed me with BPPV and recommended I try You Tube !

I tried this and although it made the world spin like crazy and left me hanging on for dear life IT WORKED ! What a relief !

  • Do this exercise right before you go to bed. I do this with my head hanging over the end of the bed and then turn to the affected side. I turn my head very slowly, one inch at a time and stay in that position until I don't feel any dizziness, then continue that until I'm on the opposite side. I get up very slowly & keep my head straight. Sleep on two pillows so that your head is on an incline. You may have to do this two nights in a row, but it usually works the first time.

  • This procedure is quite amazing. One day I just woke up with BPPV- a real problem! After this procedure I was much better! Thanks....

  • AMAZING!

My dizziness has lasted for weeks and was getting worse. I'm 56 and otherwise healthy, and thought it was hormonal or viral.

Tried homeopathic, food elimination, nothing helped. Almost passed out from nausea taking a walk yesterday. Saw this video this morning and tried it with some skepticism.

Incredible results! I'm not completely out of the woods yet, but heavy head and vertigo have subsided considerably. Nausea is gone. Relaxing the full 2-3 minutes in each position is key. ;>)

  • After 2 days of vertigo crises i discovered this video. I did the exercise twice and no more vertigo!!! Thank you so much!!!

  • I had no idea so many people suffered with dizziness like I have been. I have been just bearing thru the symptoms until I found these eply maneuvers. I has made me feel soo much better!!!

  • I was taken to the emergency and diagnosed with vertigo and given medication. After 3 days there was no relief from the dizziness. After searching the internet I came across the epley video. I did the exercise on the 4th night and the following morining I felt so VERY much better. On the 5th evening I did the exercise and this morning I am 100% better, with no more dizziness.

  • Wow. I've had this this for a hole day was and getting worried. Was going to go to see my doc in the morning but couldn't sleep! I get it when I rolled over in bed. So at 2am I found this and Tadda!! :D Thank you so much!

  • thank god i found this on the first day of my bppv. i was wrestling with my buddies and i accidentally bumped my head on the piano, the very next day my head would spin out of control whenever i lie down. this stuff is very serious because it can easily ruin somebody's life. THANK YOU FOR WHOEVER INVENTED THIS. IT WORKS!!

  • I was diagnosed (Incorrectly) as having Labyrinthitis for just over a year. Just like everyone else who posted here, it was a nightmare. Simply resting my head back slightly on the sofa, or turning my head in bed was enough to send me spinning and holding on for dear life to the chair, bed, whatever.

Then I saw an ENT consultant who said it was BPV not Labytrinthitis and fixed me within 5 minutes with this very simple procedure....Bloody AMAZING!

  • Amazing! I was sick as a dog for a day after I got vertigo from turning over too fast in bed. I couldn't sit up or walk, or even turn my head without the world spinning around and feeling super nauseous. I did what this video suggested and I was 95% cured. My doctor says up to 2 more weeks to have it gone, and it will probably reoccur sometime, but now I know what to do. I can't thank you enough!

  • Please redo the exercise by following the instructions strictly. Mine was 95% cured on first try and on second time I make sure angles are exact, that immediately balanced my ears ( I can feel the balancing when doing the exercise! ) and I have been problem free for 2 weeks now. And yes my "floating" feelings takes a few days to clear away. Good luck! ystan19xx

  • You're right. I started feeling a little weird with a headache so I did it again and I immediately felt fine. Thanks! bunnytracker

  • It worked for me on the first practice of maneuver following your clear instructions, dizziness went away!

    Thank you so much!!

  • Thank you so much for posting this video. I was suffering from BPPV and was just about to make an appointment at the doc's when I found this video. My husband guided me through the process, I went to bed, woke up the next morning and my dizziness had gone :) Thank you, thank you x

  • This works! Yesterday I was diagnosed with BPPV (dizziness caused by "ear rocks" in the inner ear) and was due to see an ENT today. He would have performed the Epley. So, I looked it up and found this do-it-yourself. A friend talked me through it. Result: no dizziness all night and none this morning. Thank you!

  • I've had vertigo on and off for 3 or more years. My doctor suggested I go to see a specialist, so I tried You Tube instead! Tried this exercise yesterday afternoon. Room spun like crazy half way through, then peace. Last night? No spinning when I lay down and turned over and this morning...total bliss; no spinning or vertigo at all. Al I can say is an enormous THANK YOU. At last no vertigo as I walk around. Thanks You Tube, that's what the internet should all be about.

  • @jsdmonty Excellent! I'll try it! So happy your vertigo is gone BTW!

  • @jsdmonty My Mom does it too when she needs it . BPPV can come back eventually. Keep it in mind. Glad people are willing to try it!

  • I've had vertigo for 9 days,

All of the other vids say 15 secs on each side so when I saw 2 mins it sounded like a lot.

    I did it anyway.

I went to bed shortly after and today I felt an improvement.

Tonight when I went to do this exercise again I experienced NO SPINS at all. (typically the room would spin for 15 secs before)

I am crossing my fingers that the vertigo is gone and I think it just might be because of this video!!

thank for posting a CLEAR example of how to do this maneuver !

  • These videos are absolute miracle for me as i had done yesterday and today and my vertigo and dizziness is improved and i am hoping to continue these exercise untill i recovered completely.

Can we do the exercise inthe morning also.

  • This video is exactly what I've been looking for! I suffered from serious vertigo

but forgot how to reposition the crystals in my inner ear by simple head movements which one doctor used to cure me 5 years ago.

Greatest thanks to this video which demonstrate the Epley maneuver so clearly and easily.

I feel the vertigo is gone soon after I followed the movements. My deepest gratefulness to the producer of this video!!!

  • Epley procedure for dizziness.
