  • Best song of 2011. Who's with me?

  • @TurkeyJones91 I've always disliked the publication. There is an oppressive operative editorial trope which, combined with the earnest and snarky ineptitude of the writers that reminds me of Dick Cheney and Karl Rove running the GWB White House. A crafting of an cultivated attitude, conveying it through a willing mouthpiece who wants to meet and starfuck-via-interview his favorite indie star...?

  • it shouldnt matter how everyone got here if you actually liked kurt you would be happy that hes getting more publicity and getting more success

  • sounds so much like 'He's Alright', still good tune! :)

  • What the fuck is Pitchfork?

  • I don't even know what Pitchfork is... does that make me a hipster or a loser?

  • @aphroditemf You're Pitchfork curious that makes you very cool. I first heard Kurt on stereogum errr ask or google

  • great song.

  • haha intro truns into an outro.... no song in between :(

  • Just Awesome

  • Megan Washington sent me here! I love it.

  • I heard this song sometime in the winter when a local MN radio station 89.3 The Current started playing it, since then it still gives me chills down my spine everytime I hear it. If this was released in the '70s this would of been a #1 hit for sure. The rifts are just beautiful.

  • @MegaMytube99 Congratulations for winning hipster of the year award you fuckin d-bag.

  • @skaownsj00 hey, he was born with the innate knowledge of this music nobody or no thing exposed him to it dont be a hater

  • There is a pure peace, joy, and happiness that this music offers!

  • @Hockyluv21 wrong, and by the way Pitchfork sucks

  • @nazbuk this niggas just to hipster

  • i love this song

  • Artsandwarcrafts just reached his "I'm too old to understand new music" point. Too bad.

  • @dwreck1971 Ahahah Bless him

  • thumbs up if you thumbs up if you thumbs up if you thumbs up if you thumbs up if you thumbs up if you thumbs up if you thumbs up if you thumbs up if you thumbs up if you thumbs up if you thumbs up if you thumbs up if you thumbs up if you thumbs up if you thumbs up if you thumbs up if you thumbs up if you thumbs up if you thumbs up if you thumbs up if you thumbs up if you thumbs up if you buy your underwear at K-Mart. Comments like this will eventually get old. I hope this one helps things along.

  • i'm sorry, i dont get what all the hype is about. Its not necessarily bad but i feel like i'm listening to a velvet undeground cover band. Dont see myself listening to it much in the future.

  • No one sent me here. . . This is just good guitar music.

  • you know....people tell me all the time that i constantly am a skater then gangster skater than gangster?? because i like all kinds of music???yah and i tell them that i pay more attention to music according to the lyrics rather than if its rock or rap....if i like it than ill listen to it but according to prople gangsters own rap and skaters ???lol listen to nothing but rock???stupid right??

  • @Xxcesar1 what the fuck are you going on about

  • Thumbs up if you sent yourself here.

  • This is what happens when kurt gets a fever.

  • I love kurt vile

  • When will these "next best thing hipster artists" actually be any good? not just another round of big hair fashion artists. So much hype and then they're gone in 6 months. Wavves.... shit. Girls... not much better..... EMA....very ordinary. Please Kurt, bring rhythm and melody back

  • @Lukelegs only thing worse then hipsters are little fucks who wanna complain about hipsters on the youtube

  • @Lukelegs I don't think anyone who follows music closely looks for a "next big thing". That's a hipster practice. Musicheads are all like "well that's an interesting sound, lets see what you can do with it." Most music critics are far too detached to get really excited about just any new artist. (I'm not a real music critic — I still get excited about certain artists, but it usually takes me a couple albums to really become a fan of anyone.)

  • Hmmm... I don't like the vocals too much. But Kurt's guitar work is really good at the end. So I'm kind of torn here. :/

  • this album is my intro into vile..very cool shit

  • sorry fans sounds like shit to me :(

  • great

  • absolutely brilliant!

  • Great stuff!!!!!!!!

  • So gorgeous.

  • I like this song. I heard it on XMU and I saved the name and when I got the time I went on iTunes and bought it and after it downloaded I listened to it about 30 times in a row. Now I'm on youtube listening to it again. So yeah... * awkward silence* *trips and falls down* *hot girl sees me fall and starts laughing* *runs away only to turn my head and run into a locker* *books go scattering*

  • @StandUpComedyTV wow your a very interesting person xD very colourful, & Wow you listen to XMU? Kick ass. Jake & Josiah are ma homeboyz. Fo'reals.

  • @StandUpComedyTV Wow fuck this guy

  • @kris242 with you on that one. great way to discover some great new music. gotta write it down though. fyi they are on channel 35 now

  • Love it... kinda reminded me of (Girl least likley to) Morrissey

  • I like to spend a portion of my days listening to the indie channel (XMU) on XM Radio and writing down the bands that appeal to me for further listening. So far this is my favorite that I have heard so far. This song is amazing. It's almost dream like.

  • @kris242 Exactly how I found this as well! And I can't agree with you more.

  • Soooo great!! Definitely my 2011 summer album! I'll be listening to this album around a campfire for a few months!

  • ultra vivid scene 1990

  • What a fantastic song

  • this is BORING

  • Out of tune Johnny Marr

  • @justinwiggy yeah it's true it also sounds like FELT

  • Yay, no more lo-fi production. Thank god.

  • Thumbs up if Patterson Hood sent you here

  • DBT fan here. Patterson Hood thinks this is the best album of the year...so far

  • It's like being in the druggy fug of a smalltown bar-room and I don't ever want to leave. Genius.

  • Vile is like crazy good Im loving this

  • nice melody

  • The guitar sounds a little like Johnny Marr. I love it- his best album yet.

  • @comeonboeltsy- also has a shimmering vibe similar to The Church. Great album!

  • @Radagarst Ah, totally!

  • @comeonboeltsy

RE: Johnny Marr - My thoughts exactly!

  • I mean this guy is pure talent.

  • Why is he so good?

  • great album.....well i only heard three songs so far but each one is GREAT!!

  • thumbs up if aziz sent you here.

  • @tkaiser22 who is aziz?

  • Holy Jesus I love this song

  • Great job.

Cover artwork reminds me of the Postal Service.

  • Great Song...can't wait for the new album!

  • I like it. I want more noise experimental stuff, though. He can't leave it behind. I want more stuff like on Constant Hitmaker. His best.

  • Comment removed

  • is it just my impression or did kurt become more melodic and less "noise-experimental" by time? i appreciate this.

  • Comment removed

  • yup, i think so, is more folk, reminds vashti bunyan sometimes

  • Smoke Ring For My Halo will be the album of the year '11

  • @Fiaganja "Destroyer - Kaputt" has potential too imo...

  • Get it Kurt!
