Gesualdo-the Caravaggio of music. Brutal personality but a profound sense of beauty. Did he actually write for instruments or strictly for voice? Chissa'? Se qualcuno qui chissa' fammi sapere. If anyone knows, let me know.

he wrote mostly for voices; no instrumental music except 3 ricercars in G, french songs for four instruments, and a galiarde for four instruments. that's the total amount of instrumental music he wrote, compared to over 200 vocal pieces.
