Germs? Dog's mouth is one of the cleanests mouths in the world! For example, you give your baby more germs yourself by kissing him/her or tasting the baby food with the same spoon. Human bite is quite dangerous because we have so much bad bacteria in our mouths naturally. Stupid people.
He looks like my Dane Scraper! They call them gentle giants for a reason! They are the sweetest dog ever! Your dane will protect your baby until the day she passes away! Enjoy!
My great dane was lovely, i had her from when i was 5 till i was 14! i loved her so much, she was called Polly :) she used to think my cat was her baby, so used to be so protective of her. and she was so caring and loving. She died when i was 14, no dog could possibly replace it <3 RIP Polly! xx
Sterilization? Can't we just comment happily on the cuteness! Besides, it's a dog and a baby, not a raccoon eating a skunk! If baby gets sick, by some stretch of craziness due to the Dane, baby gets better. If you want to have a baby and throw your dog away that's whatever, but I would love my dog and baby as a family. HA!
I skimmed some of the comments below & it seems there's a discontent. In my professional opinion doing biology at university, and my mother's (who is director of teaching & a lead researcher in biomolecular sciences at an internationally renowned university) - that your dog licking your baby is not a real problem.YES, there are germs in dogs' mouths but in fact, actively protecting your children from exposure to germs is worse in the long run. :)
@tylerian7 I enjoyed this response. Parents who sterilize their baby's environment are much more likely to have an unhealthy child later on in life. I was always in the dirt as a kid, and I grew up with dogs, hairy dogs, and look at me now. Never had any allergies. All about exposure and taking care of your body.
lmao, if the parents were'nt around, the dane woulda took advantage of finishing off the babies delicious soft hands..then Arm.. and swallow the cute lil head.
holy crap, insults and more insults. Whatever, just enjoy the goddamn video. Of course I would never let any children of mine get licked in the face by a dog that easily, dogs don't necessarily drink from the toilet or lick their butt, but why risk it. Even so, I do agree with the proven fact that they don't have the same kind of germs we do, therefore making it more difficult for the baby to get sick, but why risk it ;) Chill dudes, everyone's entitled to their own opinion, for both of you.

By that logic, it would also be ok to let your baby eat food off the pavement, never wash their hands, etc. etc. It's all ok, because they're 'resilient'! LOL.
@DancinJim Hey there pole smoker, how the fuck do you think adults gain strong immune systems? @amzyjane Oh wow, you actually didn't get the point I made at all. How stupid. @DancinJim wow, just, wow...i'm speechless. i can literally feel my brain cells dying. keep living in your bubble if you think you can control whatever bacteria and other germs goes into an infants mouth. anything in a dog's mouth is tame when in the same light as chicken pox and polio. which was my point at bringing up chicken pox. who were you calling stupid?
@amzyjane Allow me to elaborate, as clearly you are a rather dense individual who needs examples and constant repetition. A kid drops a sweet on the ground and picks it up and eats it when mum isn't looking. Not much you can do about that, as disgusting as it is, so you just have to hope they don't get ill. A parent films and encourages their dog to lick a baby's face. Those germs and bacteria on the dog's tongue are easily avoidable in that situation. No excuse to ENCOURAGE spread of bacteria.
@amzyjane Oh and by the way, the only pole I smoke is the Cuban cigar I light up, directly after I've anally demolished each member of your immediate family, taking great care in ensuring that I use their tears as lube for my throbbing phallus, as I thrust the engorged member into your next of kin's whimpering chocolate starfish (it wasn't chocolate at the start, but the fear of their pending anal prolapse encouraged them to squeeze one out). That's how you do a proper insult, young lady :) xxx
@DancinJim Yes I must be quite dense & admittedly disturbed to find your vitriolic & uneducated comments slightly amusing & titillating. Letting you know that when I indulge in a bit of buggery, lube is not a factor so I surmise when you rape my family there will be no need for KY- tears. After the desecration it wouldn't go astray to share a Cuban with my father (common courtesy) but please make sure they're real - no jinetero bought cigars. He hates them more than getting fucked in the arse
@amzyjane Yes, you must be quite dense, seeing as you failed to grasp the point first-time round. I sense you're grasping at straws a bit now, with that response. You're out of luck on this one. Better luck next time!
@DancinJim Despite my density I'm still right though. Anyone reading this please don't let uneducated paranoia deprive your child of experiences in the above video.
@amzyjane Well that's the hilarious thing - you actually could not come back to me at the initial point...you had to resort to ignoring it. I proved you wrong for all to see. You still cannot see how? Bless! I thought by now even you would be able to understand! Never mind. One day you will get it.
@DancinJim I hope you never kiss your child, otherwise you're a fucking hypocrite considering humans have more harmful bacteria in their mouths than dogs.
"Many of the bacteria in the mouth of a dog are species specific, so it won't harm its owner. ...you're more likely to get a serious illness from kissing a person than kissing a dog."
-Direct quote from a veterinarian
If you think children should live sheltered lives thats fine, but practice it on your own and stop preaching.
@CaptainCrazzzy That quote (from a 'veterinarian' - no source, LOL) is regarding humans in general, NOT children specifically. Secondly, how does a dog clean itself? Is it by magic, or does it lick? Those germs are still on the tongue. Those germs have the potential to make an adult blind, let alone a child with an undeveloped immune system. It makes me laugh how people try to justify unhygienic behaviour with warped logic. Hygiene is pretty simple - avoid germs, as we get enough involuntarily.
@DancinJim its fucking common sense you dipshit, just google it for the source. Why do you think animals like Dogs lick their wounds? you think its because it tastes good? LOL. Their tongue disinfects the wounds and CLEANS it.
ofcourse there are germs on the tongue... there are germs everywhere... bottom line is its more harmful for a human to kiss a child than a dog to kiss one. Germs dont pass between species as easily as you'd like to think.
@CaptainCrazzzy Oh please, spare me the ill-informed pseudo-science. You are not a scientific expert and nor am I, however, the difference between the two of us is that you can't even grasp the fact a dog can tolerate different germs than a human. Only someone who has absolutely NO clue about this subject would claim the things you claim. Sad really...
@DancinJim way to make a comment with no substance.
"dog can tolerate different germs than a human"... why did you say that I didn't think that? LOL. YES dogs can tolerate different germs, just as humans tolerate different germs. Its called having species specific bacteria, meaning its only found in a certain species... thus meaning it DOESN'T HARM OTHER SPECIES.
I'm sorry you education is lacking that you didn't know this, hopefully I've helped become a little smarter today.
@CaptainCrazzzy You're wrong. Quite obviously. Every time you post you clutch at straws, forget (or deliberately ignore) what was really said before, and hope you can try to wing it so that you look like you haven't totally lost the plot. Are you denying that humans cannot contract diseases from animals? That is what you are currently saying, according to your posts. Don't make me laugh. If you are not denying this, then my previous comment stands. You can't have your cake and eat it.
@DancinJim Okay lets go back to my very first comment towards you, "I hope you never kiss your child." Yes humans can contract diseases from animals... and its more likely that a human contracts a disease from another human. So tell me, do you plan on kissing your children? Bc if you do plan on kissing them, then you're a fucking hypocrite.
LOL at you never having any substance whatsoever in any of your comments. You are clearly defeated and your attempts at saving face are failing hard.
@CaptainCrazzzy Typical of someone who is backpeddling like yourself to try to pretend the other person is the one with no substance. I have had you on the back foot all along and you are still clutching at straws. You did try to infer that humans couldn't contract diseases from animals, otherwise you wouldn't have tried to force the idea that " it DOESN'T HARM OTHER SPECIES" - your words, not mine. Keep trying. One day you might actually win an arguement. lol.
@DancinJim still avoiding the are you going to kiss your children question that I asked you in my very first comment? Whats the matter? Realized you're a hypocrite so you just not answer... nice strategy... too bad I'm going to keep pointing it out to you.
@CaptainCrazzzy Don't understand how you think this is some amazing point. Why kiss a child? Why do you feel that it is important that children should be kissed? Are you a pedo? I just don't get the importance of it. Secondly, you fail to realise a kiss between an adult and a child is without tongues (the carrier of vast amounts of bacteria). Unless you find it the norm that an adult kisses a child with their tongue (not saying I put that past you) then your point loses even more relevance.
@DancinJim kisses involve saliva... wow you are even dumber then I originally thought. The fact that I've provided you with scientific evidence that shows its more likely to contract a disease from another human than an animal and you're still commenting with zero substance in every comment trying to defend your point shows the level of education you missed out on. I feel bad for you, but then again you're probably 14 and still have a ways to go.
@CaptainCrazzzy Once more, you go back to grasping at those proverbial straws you so dearly love. You have provided absolutely no scientific evidence, whatsoever. It actually tickles me every time I see you say that! Until you prove to me via a scientific expert who I can verify, that this is the case...then your claims are worth nothing. You said my silence about kissing babies indicated I was avoiding the question. Does that mean you are avoiding being questioned about tonguing them? lol
@CaptainCrazzzy Also, way to try for the tenuous link: "kisses involve saliva". Nice try, but we al know you're trying a little too hard to prove a flawed point. My assertion that animals carry germs that can harm humans is proven. Polio. Tetanus. Rabies. Furthermore, a dog is immune to things that babies, and all humans, are not. A dog can eat its own faeces. It won't hurt it. It would poison a human, however. Your claims are no more real than the claims of the Bible. Total, utter, fiction.
@DancinJim WOW you are fucking dumb, want me to list all of the diseases a human can carry? I'm afraid I dont have enough room on this comment. Rabies? are you fucking shitting me... you really think this domesticated dog hasn't had their shots?
My God you are fucking RETARDED! I wish this video got even more views so more people could all have a laugh like I am at your stupidity.
@CaptainCrazzzy "My God you are fucking RETARDED!" Hahaha. The person who thinks that others should be mad.....gets mad. lol. Well-done on succumbing. Another one falls into the trap... You lose on two levels now.
@DancinJim and then theres the white flag ladies and gentlemen, dancinjim once again avoiding all questions asked towards him bc he simply cannot answer without proving himself to be completely clueless. I give you an A+ for effort, but child you need some work.
@CaptainCrazzzy You are waving the white flag? Well, it was to be expected, seeing as how you offered nothing whatsoever, other than incredulous idiocy for me and the entire YouTube community to laugh at. It's a shame you had to embarrass yourself so much, but what can I say.... you will learn when you mature. Probably best not to pick fights with people who are clearly more confident, more arrogant and more intelligent than you though. Enjoy your loss. Ta-ta for now! xxx
-Get called out about not answering questions that I ask you in comments that disprove everything you've said
-Keep ignoring the questions and continue to keep making posts with no substance
-Resort to personal attacks and claim victory
such is the life of DancinJim, failing at the internet since his birth in 1995.
A baby is more likely to get sick from their mom or dad kissing them then their dog, you can't accept the bottom line.... you arrogant as hell bro lol.
@CaptainCrazzzy A baby is much more likely to become ill from an animal licking all over their face, than from a responsible parent placing a kiss on a cheek. Not that it is even necessary for someone to do that. A dog's mouth is only sterile for a dog, not for a human. If a dog lick's its own poop, those germs, however sterile to the dog, are still dangerous to humans. Dog trainers tell people this. Medical reports state this. It's obvious.
@CaptainCrazzzy "want me to list all of the diseases a human can carry?"
Why? Humans tend to be germ-conscious beings. We tend to wash our hands after going to the toilet, before eating lunch and dinner, shower, etc. We don't do this for fun, we do it because we try to avoid germs as much as possible. By your logic, as germs exist and can't be entirely avoided, it doesn't matter if we expose babies to all kinds, even ones that can be avoided. Doesn't tie in with human hygiene practice does it...
@DancinJim Ahh, despite the uncertainty in this germ infested world, its heartening to see you still trolling on, regardless of your flawed logic. Toodles xoxo Amy
@amzyjane Ah, that's a predictable comment from someone who picked a fight with someone superior, then realised they bit off more than they could chew. Well-done on trying to use sock accounts too. lol. Enjoy being wrong. I won't say anything more insulting, as outside of this topic I have now idea how your mind works. However, inside this topic, you have no clue whatsoever.
Aww How cute!! It looks like the baby loves the great dane just as much as the dane loves the baby. I have a great dane and he is also very loving and gentle. People who have never owned one of these amazing breeds would never understand how gentle and trust worthy they truely are. The interaction with the baby is a great thing and just wait they will be best friends!
I want to say that great danes never would do anything to anyone, but that's just naive. I do think that they are the best dogs in the world, and my great dane have never done anything but licking and loving babies. If you trust your dog... well, let it. I think it's up to each one to choose.
My parents have a harlequin great dane, and they've always had great danes even as I was growing up. However now with my baby niece around who is now 2, we just would never risk putting the two together. Our dane does the same playful nibbling seen in this video any ya know what, sometimes it really hurts. When you're dealing w a baby that bad nibble could break a bone or lose a finger. I don't believe our dane would ever intentionally hurt the baby, but she is just overly curious.
@lucyMD5c unfortunately her idea of play involves 'boxing' as well. It's really not worth the risk in my opinion. I'm not sure what satisfaction is achieved by placing a defensely child in the space of a 100lb+ animal? Even when no tragedy occurs, it just seems stupid :/
@christiankendrick Actually, it is a merle. There is no such thing as a blue merle or merlequin or anything of that nature. A merle is a merle. Harlequins are strictly black and white.
@Bonami27 Actually a merle is just a merle for Great Danes, no matter the color, and that is merle in the video. What you are refering to is a "blue harlequin" or "porcelain great dane", which is the result of an unethical breeding, whereas a merle is a normal occurence in harlequin breedings. And yes, regular Harlequins can have some grey occurences on their coats but that is because of the merle gene they carry, and it is considered less desirable if you were to show that dog.
we foster dogs all the time and i have to admit when my niece was young i trusted the bigger dogs with her than the little dogs. (she was never left alone with them though)
can anyone help me here, what kind of collar chain lead do they need?
i love big dogs! like the bigger, the better tempered! and look at the chiwawa! the ones i know try to kill my lab! kinda the same with horses/ponys! at my camp, ritz is the biggest horse there ( about 15 hands) and TK the little pony is EVIL! when she looks at you she like says " god i hate you!"
@DecipioDecies a child will put worse things in their mouth than a dogs tongue... get over it.. u probably ate shit... as most babies do.... thats disgusting.... so again, not a huge deal

He hates them more than getting fucked in the arse
amzyjane 11 months ago
@amzyjane Yes, you must be quite dense, seeing as you failed to grasp the point first-time round. I sense you're grasping at straws a bit now, with that response. You're out of luck on this one. Better luck next time!
DancinJim 11 months ago
@DancinJim Despite my density I'm still right though. Anyone reading this please don't let uneducated paranoia deprive your child of experiences in the above video.
amzyjane 11 months ago
@amzyjane Well that's the hilarious thing - you actually could not come back to me at the initial point...you had to resort to ignoring it. I proved you wrong for all to see. You still cannot see how? Bless! I thought by now even you would be able to understand! Never mind. One day you will get it.
DancinJim 11 months ago
@DancinJim I hope you never kiss your child, otherwise you're a fucking hypocrite considering humans have more harmful bacteria in their mouths than dogs.
"Many of the bacteria in the mouth of a dog are species specific, so it won't harm its owner. ...you're more likely to get a serious illness from kissing a person than kissing a dog."
-Direct quote from a veterinarian
If you think children should live sheltered lives thats fine, but practice it on your own and stop preaching.
CaptainCrazzzy 11 months ago
@CaptainCrazzzy That quote (from a 'veterinarian' - no source, LOL) is regarding humans in general, NOT children specifically. Secondly, how does a dog clean itself? Is it by magic, or does it lick? Those germs are still on the tongue. Those germs have the potential to make an adult blind, let alone a child with an undeveloped immune system. It makes me laugh how people try to justify unhygienic behaviour with warped logic. Hygiene is pretty simple - avoid germs, as we get enough involuntarily.
DancinJim 11 months ago
@DancinJim its fucking common sense you dipshit, just google it for the source. Why do you think animals like Dogs lick their wounds? you think its because it tastes good? LOL. Their tongue disinfects the wounds and CLEANS it.
ofcourse there are germs on the tongue... there are germs everywhere... bottom line is its more harmful for a human to kiss a child than a dog to kiss one. Germs dont pass between species as easily as you'd like to think.
So I better not see you kissing your kid.
CaptainCrazzzy 11 months ago
@CaptainCrazzzy Oh please, spare me the ill-informed pseudo-science. You are not a scientific expert and nor am I, however, the difference between the two of us is that you can't even grasp the fact a dog can tolerate different germs than a human. Only someone who has absolutely NO clue about this subject would claim the things you claim. Sad really...
DancinJim 11 months ago
@DancinJim way to make a comment with no substance.
"dog can tolerate different germs than a human"... why did you say that I didn't think that? LOL. YES dogs can tolerate different germs, just as humans tolerate different germs. Its called having species specific bacteria, meaning its only found in a certain species... thus meaning it DOESN'T HARM OTHER SPECIES.
I'm sorry you education is lacking that you didn't know this, hopefully I've helped become a little smarter today.
CaptainCrazzzy 11 months ago
@CaptainCrazzzy You're wrong. Quite obviously. Every time you post you clutch at straws, forget (or deliberately ignore) what was really said before, and hope you can try to wing it so that you look like you haven't totally lost the plot. Are you denying that humans cannot contract diseases from animals? That is what you are currently saying, according to your posts. Don't make me laugh. If you are not denying this, then my previous comment stands. You can't have your cake and eat it.
DancinJim 10 months ago
@DancinJim Okay lets go back to my very first comment towards you, "I hope you never kiss your child." Yes humans can contract diseases from animals... and its more likely that a human contracts a disease from another human. So tell me, do you plan on kissing your children? Bc if you do plan on kissing them, then you're a fucking hypocrite.
LOL at you never having any substance whatsoever in any of your comments. You are clearly defeated and your attempts at saving face are failing hard.
CaptainCrazzzy 10 months ago
@CaptainCrazzzy Typical of someone who is backpeddling like yourself to try to pretend the other person is the one with no substance. I have had you on the back foot all along and you are still clutching at straws. You did try to infer that humans couldn't contract diseases from animals, otherwise you wouldn't have tried to force the idea that " it DOESN'T HARM OTHER SPECIES" - your words, not mine. Keep trying. One day you might actually win an arguement. lol.
DancinJim 10 months ago
@DancinJim still avoiding the are you going to kiss your children question that I asked you in my very first comment? Whats the matter? Realized you're a hypocrite so you just not answer... nice strategy... too bad I'm going to keep pointing it out to you.
You must be so mad right now. :)
CaptainCrazzzy 10 months ago
@CaptainCrazzzy Don't understand how you think this is some amazing point. Why kiss a child? Why do you feel that it is important that children should be kissed? Are you a pedo? I just don't get the importance of it. Secondly, you fail to realise a kiss between an adult and a child is without tongues (the carrier of vast amounts of bacteria). Unless you find it the norm that an adult kisses a child with their tongue (not saying I put that past you) then your point loses even more relevance.
DancinJim 10 months ago
@DancinJim kisses involve saliva... wow you are even dumber then I originally thought. The fact that I've provided you with scientific evidence that shows its more likely to contract a disease from another human than an animal and you're still commenting with zero substance in every comment trying to defend your point shows the level of education you missed out on. I feel bad for you, but then again you're probably 14 and still have a ways to go.
CaptainCrazzzy 10 months ago
@CaptainCrazzzy Once more, you go back to grasping at those proverbial straws you so dearly love. You have provided absolutely no scientific evidence, whatsoever. It actually tickles me every time I see you say that! Until you prove to me via a scientific expert who I can verify, that this is the case...then your claims are worth nothing. You said my silence about kissing babies indicated I was avoiding the question. Does that mean you are avoiding being questioned about tonguing them? lol
DancinJim 10 months ago

DancinJim 10 months ago
@CaptainCrazzzy Also, way to try for the tenuous link: "kisses involve saliva". Nice try, but we al know you're trying a little too hard to prove a flawed point. My assertion that animals carry germs that can harm humans is proven. Polio. Tetanus. Rabies. Furthermore, a dog is immune to things that babies, and all humans, are not. A dog can eat its own faeces. It won't hurt it. It would poison a human, however. Your claims are no more real than the claims of the Bible. Total, utter, fiction.
DancinJim 10 months ago
@DancinJim WOW you are fucking dumb, want me to list all of the diseases a human can carry? I'm afraid I dont have enough room on this comment. Rabies? are you fucking shitting me... you really think this domesticated dog hasn't had their shots?
My God you are fucking RETARDED! I wish this video got even more views so more people could all have a laugh like I am at your stupidity.
Enjoy your mental retardation bro!
CaptainCrazzzy 10 months ago
@CaptainCrazzzy "My God you are fucking RETARDED!" Hahaha. The person who thinks that others should be mad.....gets mad. lol. Well-done on succumbing. Another one falls into the trap... You lose on two levels now.

@DancinJim and then theres the white flag ladies and gentlemen, dancinjim once again avoiding all questions asked towards him bc he simply cannot answer without proving himself to be completely clueless. I give you an A+ for effort, but child you need some work.
CaptainCrazzzy 10 months ago
@CaptainCrazzzy You are waving the white flag? Well, it was to be expected, seeing as how you offered nothing whatsoever, other than incredulous idiocy for me and the entire YouTube community to laugh at. It's a shame you had to embarrass yourself so much, but what can I say.... you will learn when you mature. Probably best not to pick fights with people who are clearly more confident, more arrogant and more intelligent than you though. Enjoy your loss. Ta-ta for now! xxx

@DancinJim
CaptainCrazzzy 10 months ago
@CaptainCrazzzy
-Make up the idea that I don't answer questions, failing to realise that the single question was flawed and utterly inadequate.
-Invent the idea that I make personal attacks, when it is clear that you have been the emotionally volatile one all along.
DancinJim 10 months ago
@CaptainCrazzzy A baby is much more likely to become ill from an animal licking all over their face, than from a responsible parent placing a kiss on a cheek. Not that it is even necessary for someone to do that. A dog's mouth is only sterile for a dog, not for a human. If a dog lick's its own poop, those germs, however sterile to the dog, are still dangerous to humans. Dog trainers tell people this. Medical reports state this. It's obvious.
DancinJim 10 months ago
@DancinJim Dogs saliva heals. I dunno what dogs you have seen but my dog for one doesnt lick its own crap.

DancinJim 10 months ago
@DancinJim Ahh, despite the uncertainty in this germ infested world, its heartening to see you still trolling on, regardless of your flawed logic. Toodles xoxo Amy

@amzyjane Ah, that's a predictable comment from someone who picked a fight with someone superior, then realised they bit off more than they could chew.
Dreamypigtails 1 year ago 24

I don't believe our dane would ever intentionally hurt the baby, but she is just overly curious.
lucyMD5c 1 year ago
@lucyMD5c unfortunately her idea of play involves 'boxing' as well. It's really not worth the risk in my opinion. I'm not sure what satisfaction is achieved by placing a defensely child in the space of a 100lb+ animal? Even when no tragedy occurs, it just seems stupid :/

GrizyGrl 1 year ago
@Bonami27 Actually a merle is just a merle for Great Danes, no matter the color, and that is merle in the video. What you are refering to is a "blue harlequin" or "porcelain great dane", which is the result of an unethical breeding, whereas a merle is a normal occurence in harlequin breedings. And yes, regular Harlequins can have some grey occurences on their coats but that is because of the merle gene they carry, and it is considered less desirable if you were to show that dog.
