  • amazing, man!!

  • Can't help but notice that you have a Wuhan splash. They make the best splashes and chinas. Good choice, and great video! Planning to play this in the band, so your video helps a lot.

  • @no1marleyf

Ya thats how I am. I'm left for everything except guitar and drums because my dad would always tell me i was holding it backwards. Other then the fact that I just have to slightly readjust my kit it's not half bad

  • buenisimooo!!!

  • Im left handed but i play right handed... Is anyone else the same? The first time i sat at a drum kit i was told how to hold them by a right hander.

  • Well since it's dim, you look uncannily like 90s Grohl.

  • i would give it a 7 because if your good at fast tempo then your fine.

  • @iendacard how hard would you rank this song out of ten to play it seems really hard

  • Great snare sound! Those flams sound heavenly.

  • That was good! Enjoyed it :) ::superlikes::

  • that's a huge rack tom :O

  • is that the Aquarian hi - energy snare head?

  • Great! I'm an open-handed drummer too myself! Good to see we're not alone in this universe ;)

  • You look like marilyn manson from the side lol ..

    Sick Sick Sick !! !

  • dude that sounded perfect, and from the side you look like a younger Dave Grohl haha

  • Yes, good to see a open handed drummer out there :D

  • Where can I get one of those left hands?

  • wow dude you are awsome and your drums and symbals sounds amazing! what snare are you using?

  • hi do you use double pedal ?? do you know if Castillo use it ??

    thanks

  • Your cymbals sounds soooo nice.

  • damn, drummers are so sexys...

  • awesome

  • You are amazing!!!

  • dude your snare ounds awesome i like it better than the regular ones

  • @krystenthesaiyan Thanks! I was pretty pleased with how the snare sounded in this video.

  • @iendacard r u left handed or you are just open handed drummer?

  • you play the HH and ride left handed because you're a lefty ?

Or just taught yourself to play it that way ?

  • @Chexor Just how I taught myself really, although I do some other stuff left handed.

  • @iendacard oops, sorry I sow comment with answer :D

  • @iendacard The "Open Drumming" technique is quite useful and actually preferred for learning nowadays so you're lucky you learnt it this way! In my opinion drummers who play this way are a bit more flexible in their drumming (not always true obviously). Nice cover!

  • Skills dude.

  • @MrFieldy Thanks man. :)

  • sick hat work really makes a difference to the song, adds so much character to the drumming too

  • by any chance are you left handed?

  • @phoenixdrummer2 Sorta left and right, depends on what I'm doing. :)

  • It annoys me when people do cover differently to what you think, but you did this exactly as I pictured it!

  • @BobbyRobby1000 Haha, yes, I'm the same way. I have to do it as close to the original as possible!

  • your ride cymbal should be tenser, but great cover man!! :D

  • @elmonoburgos15 I have it how I like it. Thanks. :)

  • great vid ,do u have stock reso head?

  • I'm impressed.......wow

  • best cover of this i've found! good job

  • @dmh1 Thanks! :D

  • Great Vid. !!! thanks a lot

but, are you left handed or do you just like hitting your HiHat with your left hand?

  • @Wimbo1993 Thanks! I do some things left handed, but mostly I'm right handed. Drumming is one of those left handed things.

  • 4 total idiots disliked...don't understand

  • @dastotalebroetchen Haha! :) Yeah, who knows.

  • Cara você incorporou Dave Grohl HAHAHAHA . muitooo bom cara o som está perfeito Parabéns

  • @frankcastle300 Thanks! :)

  • Very very good.

    :)

What kind of snare do you have?

  • @PeloncilloX7 Thanks! The snare in this video is an old steel shell Pearl Session 14x6.5. It's an intermediate-level snare, but with the right heads I think it sounds great.

  • Excelent job... 5* :D

  • @pinguimpk Thank you, thank you. :)

  • Good Good :)

  • @Robinthirion Thanks. :)

  • EXCELENTE, MUY BIEN.

  • @JoseAbrahanGuerra Gracias! :D

  • @ManelituhxD Thanks man! :)

  • @ManelituhxD not knockin the uploader at all (promise) but you want some insane drum covers, check out tbartles007. Good stuff.

  • NICE!!!!!!!

  • @Boba360 Thanks! :)

  • How come you play with the biggest rack tom closest/above the snare. Is that just because you play open handed? Like why you have the ride above the hi-hat.

  • @sampappers05 Yeah. Well, this setup is borrowed from Jimmy Chamberlin of Smashing Pumpkins. I just wanted to try out his setup for a while. I have changed it since I did this video, this setup made me realize I really like to have a big rack tom right there close at hand.

  • best cover of this song by far.

  • @natewattssk8erkid Thanks! :)

  • You play like Ringo Starr, left handed on a right-handed drumkit. Superb! :D

  • @KallenElak Haha, thanks. :) I like Ringo.

  • left handers rock yerrrr open forever like me

  • @Thejamesbooth14 Yeah! Righthandedness is totally overrated.

  • that was awesome =] your like me, left handed on right handed kit.

  • @AsianAndProud1 Thanks. Right on! :D Open-handers rule.

  • weir way to play the hit hat ... u r left hand ?

  • @Nadieregistroeste Pretty much. lol. I play left hand lead on a right handed setup (also called open-handed).

  • Good work fella!!

  • @Corvidus99 Thanks man!

  • Wanna play with my band? Naw lol that is some really good drumming though :D

  • @Power2theFlyingV Haha :) Thanks.

  • nice vid

  • @jplanta95 Thanks!

  • I'm trying to do this song in my band but I can't get the bass snare snare bit right on the high hat, any hlp?

  • @NeroVuril Hm. Can you tell me exactly where that part is in the video? I'm not sure which part you mean. I'll see if I can explain it, though.

  • Noticed you start late.

I always have that problem when covering this song, it just starts so quick! XD

  • @jakthelad12 Yeah! It's hard to catch it right on. :)

  • @jakthelad12 Put your ipod or whatever you're using to drum along to on the song before this about ten seconds from the end. Use that ten seconds to get ready for the start :)

  • great drum sound.

  • @crand123 Thanks!

  • bad

  • i love this song!!!

  • @McFro95 Me too! One of my favs.

  • good job!

  • @TheELeKTEK Thanks!

  • i love it!!..great job and looks cool with the dim light...can you do the drum part for 'then she did' by janes addiction??

  • @rebeccam9 Thanks! I'll try to do it. :)

  • Dude, are you Dave Grohl? Lol.

  • @locoberzerker lol. If only. :)

  • @locoberzerker I was thinkin' the same thing...

  • this video looks funny lol, it looks a half-second faster lol

  • Yeah.. :\ sorry about that. Drummer 1st, video editor second. lol.

  • kalle anka säger jag bara

  • dude how can you use the left hand like thath... its wrong

  • no it's not.. at odd times even i like to play like this.. ppl can play the way they like... .. sure he can play with the high hat on the other side.. but even if you play left or right handed you shud know to play either side either way

  • What dustf89 said! :) It's called "open-handed."

  • @snormanen , I like how this guy is a drum instructor

  • r u lefty

  • well either tht or hes a switch

  • Sorta, yeah. :) I play left handed on a right handed kit.

  • AWESOME! :O :D

  • Thanks!! :D

  • I'm not having a dig but why do you hit the hi-hat with your left hand? Do you always do it?

  • yea but can you play this on expert in Rock band?

  • @ApproachingByStealth lol, if you look closely you can see he hits the snare twice, for example between 0:22 - 0:24,but in rockband where the snare is red you also have to hit the blue which is something or other

  • I can FC it.

  • LoL.. nope. :)

  • lol mega fail

  • Good stuff dude. Love QOTSA, Good stuff indeed.

  • Thanks man! Awesome band for sure.

  • wow! what a strange layout ad way of playing it just looks insane... but great job awsome cover by far the best ive heard of this song....yeah i started of tapping on the desks at skul too lol

  • haha. :) Thanks! When I tried out for school band, I wanted to play the saxaphone. Good thing I sucked at it!

  • the saxaphone lol yeah your a drummer not a saxaphoner lol the first percussion instrument i played was a bodhran haha

do you use completly sabian symbols?

  • Nah. Actually, that one Sabian you see is the only one I own, haha. :) I mostly go for Zildjian--the A series in particular. I like that traditional sound they have. Sabian does make some good cymbals, I've just always played Zildjian for some reason.

  • no shit i play that way 2

    righty set

    open handed

r u playing double bass during the chorus?

  • That's awesome. :) This song is all single bass. I don't usually do a lot of double-bass, I'm not very good at it, haha.

  • Thanks!

  • simply AWESOME!!!... great video!!!! wish I was good at the drums.. I'm currently at the 5 year old with pans level of talent... your at the cover level... which means you play freakin good!!! great job!! 5 stars!

  • Thanks! I started out beating on the desk at school, so yeah. :) Keep rockin'!

  • great great kid!

  • Thanks. :)

  • Are u left handed?

  • Sorta. I play left-handed on a right-handed kit. I do a few other things left-handed too, but I write with my right hand.

  • Almost greater then original :)

  • Wow, thanks! :)

  • Hey dude, I recently started trying to play open-handed. Do you feel that you've benefited from playing that way? Did you start as a cross-handed player? Just trying to get some feedback on this style of playing. Great cover. Peace.

  • Hey! I started open-handed, so it's hard to say if it's really benefited me or not. I will say it enables you to get your snare hand as high as you want it, so for me that's a big plus. One thing I struggle with sometimes is tom fills, because I start them with my left hand, but I've adapted my setup to accommodate that. I'd say go for it! If you learn to play crossed and open, you'll be a very versatile drummer.

  • dint ringo have a problem with that? he was a left hander on a righties kit, and used to do fills left hand leading. meh i dnt fully understand it exactlyt

  • o, and AWESOME cover

  • Haha, thanks! I didn't know that about Ringo! It's funny, my mom has told me that I was left handed and was forced to learn to write with my right hand (which is what Ringo said happened to him). Anyway yeah, it does become a problem sometimes starting fills with the left hand on a righty kit.

  • hey man that was awesome.. BTW how are you recording this?? any mics you use?

  • Thanks! This was recorded with a Shure SM57 on the snare, a Shure Beta 52 on the bass, and two Audio-Technica AT2020's as overheads.

  • beautiful cover i love your snare

  • Thanks man!

  • amazing :D

  • Thanks! :)

  • SOLID!

    Where are you out of?!

  • Thanks! I'm from a little place in northeast Tennessee near Bristol.

  • Thanks!!! :)

  • Hehe my pleashure ; )

  • Andrew W.K is playing the drums xD!!

  • Haha! That's a new one. :)

  • damn man i love your set what are the cymbals?

  • Let's see.. 20" Zildjian A Rock Ride, 18" Zildjian A Medium Thin Crash in front, Sabian 16" XS20 Medium Crash to the right, Zildjian A 16" Medium Crash to the far right, and 15" Zildjian A New Beat Hi-Hats! Whew. There's a crash and a china there too, but I didn't use 'em.

  • wow your good if eny of the people i would take lessons from it would be you keep you the good work

  • That's awesome, thanks! :)

  • i LOVE your snare!

  • Thanks! :) It's funny that people love the snare in this video and HATE it in my cover of No One Knows, yet it's the same snare and same head! Just goes to show you how much difference the position of the microphone can make.

  • haha, dude! i i can hear the difrense

what is the microphones called? i need those!

sorry for my english btw ^^

  • The mic on the snare is a Shure SM57 in both videos. :)

  • do you use it on all of your drums?

  • Sometimes I do. In this video, I just had one on the snare, a Shure Beta 52 on the bass, and two AudioTechnica AT2020s as overheads.

  • Thank you:)

i think iam going to by those, after christmas

  • Awesome! I hope you like them. For the money, I'd say they're some of the best mics you can get.

  • niiice

  • You look a bit like a young Dave Grohl here:P

Nice drumming man, you are awesome!

  • Thanks man! :)

  • what snare do you use ?

  • In this video, that snare is a Pearl Session steel shell 14x6 with an Aquarian Hi-Energy head. That head is great for getting a Grohl snare sound (I think he used it in his Nirvana days).

  • that was awesome!!!!!!!!!!
