Jerry had MIDI intgrated into Wolf after Tiger in the 80s, and Wolf was the last guitar he last used in concert at Soldier Field. Lightning Bolt's neck needed work so he used Scarlet until it malfunctioned halfway through the concert, and its backup was Wolf. Appropriately he used his trusty axe for the last time in concert. I always wondered why Tiger wasn't his backup.
@tberrigan I wasn't at that show, but the videos and pictures make it pretty clear that jerry played rosebud for most, if not all of the show, including the double encore. My guess would be he used wolf as a back up because it had the midi already set up...not sure if tiger ever got it. Though he did play tiger in the JGB a lot in the early 90's before he got the bolt.
@briandrum1 That's kind of right..sort of. He did work for them, but the guitars he built them while he was working for them, but it was more on his own time and he was doing things different than Alembic was doing (since they mainly made basses). And you also have to remember that wolf was not the first guitar Jerry got from Irwin and Irwin only worked for Alembic for a short time
@travelin4light (years later) I was thinking the same thing.....this is the only post 1980(?) video footage that I can recall seeing of Jer with no glasses on...

24 likes so far, no dislikes. I'd call it a pass, even if it didn't have trails.

@wrombola Actually, Wolf is an Alembic.....Irwin worked for Alembic in the 70's....Garcia had him customize it throughout the 70's on the side....
