I was in 2nd grade High School and smoke my ganja in my room while broadcasted this song by my own radio station work in shortwave frequency 2604 Khz, Bandung Indonesia
One of the best songs that Robert Plant ever made and that includes LZ songs, between the great guitar work, the drumming, and especially the complex vocals which is hard to understand and why it was never a big hit, but those who understand music, understand this song.
@Cliner92 Any links for the move video ? tried looking for it but I Can get a few move tracks and then loads of trrash I'm not in the slightest bit interested in all help greatly appreciated
Apologies if this has already been posted, but I posted this before and can't spot it now, so maybe I never. Anyway, what I said, & what I've said about this a few times, is that I find it very fascinating that on the Most Zeppelin Sounding track off the album, he chooses the only drummer who comes anywhere near close to the late great Bonzo (RIP Bonzo & Cozy much missed), yet the rest of the album features Phil Collins
@nickfame3021 Thanks a lot for the correction, I appreciate that, what I actually meant was this particular track, this is the most "Zeppelinesque" of all yet he used Bonzo's natural replacement whjereas for the rest of the ALBUM Phil Collins played drums, that's the point I was trying to make, should have made that clearer Thanks again for the comments
@nickfame3021 Yeah, that would seem to be the case, as his next album and almost everything since has been as far removed from this as you get, apart from his little insert in Tall Cool one, which some critics reckoned was aimed at the likes of the Beastie Bores, and other artists who quite often sampled Zep's stuff on their own records
@SuperKopstar phil collins is still a better drummer hands downs rolling stone ranked him 21. cozy is good but phil has more technique in his work. Thats y hes playes for geogre harrison ad paul mccartney eric clapton phil playes slow dancer live as it sounded great cozy is a coulda shoulda drummer a nobody to many
@joemama8539 Is this the same Phil Collins who managed to fuck up any possibnility of a Zep reunion after he blew his big chance at Live Aid? The same one who turned Genesis from a Musical tour de force in to a second rate pop act? The same one who left the band to pursue his own vanity (A failed solo project and a stinit in the movies? For all Cozy's (perceived) faults i'd take him over Collins any time, and who gives a shite how highly Rolling Stone Rated him?
@nickfame3021 Phil Collins played on most of Plant's first two solo albums and also did the Prince's Trust performance with Plant in 1982 and also Robert's first US Solo Tour in 1983. There was no tour to support Pictures At Eleven as Robert wanted to record a second album quick and also Phil had projects with Genesis and his Hello I Must Be Going album at the time. Cozy Powell played on Slow Dancer and Like I've Never Been Gone. Barriemore Barlow did two songs on Principle of Moments.
Actually said this a few times in the past on here about this track (Different uploads obviously) but I find it really significant that possibly the most outstanding track on the album (and the most "Zeppelin-esque") he uses Cozy Powell IMO Bopnzo's natural successor, wheras on every other track, he uses Phil Collins. Just wonder if this was intentional
@Rlgsps Truth is Cozy was one of the greatest drummers in the history of rock an' maybe metal music -or even the greatest, maybe- but back then he was just a guest appearance on Plant's album, playing with MSG at the same time back then -if I remember well- and the truth is that even though he left too early, he left a lot of great music and discography back, thankfully!!
@dxakis Was also lucky enough to have seen hm on stage, on tour with Whitesnake and also at donnington, and with MSG, he was peerless, nobody could touch him
@SuperKopstar Wow!! Whitesnake?? I really consider Plant and Coverdale two of the most talented musicians and great on stage performers, so, I can only wish to be as lucky as you were!!
@jr996tt I saw that tour too.1986.I thought the same thing. Is this really going to work??? Man did it. Do you remember the drum riser spinning around and Cozy playing a very early version of a Simmons electric drum set. I also saw Cozy play with Richie Blackmore's Rainbow in 1978 with Ronnie James Dio on vocals. It was unreal!!! Cozy set his drum kit on fire and kept playing it.double bass monster!!!!
@TheMoondog62- I did too. I dug out all the old LP's about 6 months ago, spinning vinyl on the weekends and even though I wore this one to the thickness of a wafer thin mint, it still plays.
@brim325 AGREE! robert plant is the voice of zepp. BUT dont' it sound like jimmy in the background cranking out his les paul ? and bonzo hitting those ludwigs hard? thanks.
@johnny260100 - i read somewhere some years ago that much of the material from this album was actually Zeppelin material that either ended up on the cutting room floor or songs that Zeppelin never made it past the concept stage - don't know if that's true, but you can certainly hear LZ in the music
wish today's music would sound like this.

ad.
RP tried to approach a differnt style compared to that of ZEPP and frustrated many ZEPP fans that way.
All that 80´s crap is outdated for a long time now and I always sauid it would be so.
He could have been much bigger IMHO.
Wish I had seen ELP and MSG.
ELP with COZY never gigged overhere and due to plain ignorance, I was young, missed out on the Utrecht show.
Will always regret that.

Fantastic. Yes, it sounds like Zep, but Cozy Powell's drums put me in mind of Rainbow's "Stargazer".
A truly epic piece, this.

did the other drum tracks on pictures at eleven.

@SuperKopstar hey man. Funny thing is the two tracks Cozy did were the first two
tracks recorded for the album from Roberts first studio sessions post Led Zeppelin.
I feel like Robert was really keeping Led Zeppelin and John Bonham's spirit alive
in those first sessions.Guess he had to get it out of
his system....Closure..Coda a musical term meaning (to end things gracefully) or (a tasteful ending) very cool right SuperKopster...

@dxakis I saw Cozy play wth ELP,, never thought it would work in a million with his style so different from Carl Palmer.

I completely agree with Rigsps.
Never understood why on earth Cozy did not do the whole album.
I must be wrong but I dont think he was already with Schenker.
Yesterday I saw hism saying in a Black Sabbath DVD that he felt sorry not accepring Iommi´s invitation in 79 already.
That because he left in 1980 he was out on his own for a while.

@johnny260100
indeed....sounds VERY much like something Zep would have came up with, had Bonham lived on.....
even the guitar riffs & sound invoke Pagey....and Cozy's drumming style in the song is quite Bonham-esque.
then again, it could just as easily be mistaken for an out-take from "in through the out door"....(to my ears).
