Thanks for the comments folks, the cymbals are as follows: paiste fast crash, 20 inch paiste traditional ride, 18inch Wuhan china, paiste signature hats cheers
@harleydude1016 He's using a Paiste crash, and I think the China crash next to his floor tom is a Paiste too but it's hard to say what the others are. No markings.
@derdasbettauffrisst This kind of beat is much easier for me to play than any faster beat. Grooving is the best. I can't play punk or metal for my life.
@etucc8 Well...I don't say I can't play this... It's just that keeping time accurately becomes far more important when you play stuff like this instead of more complex beats where the listener (i think your self is a listener too *g*) gets distracted by the lot of notes.
@etucc8: I can't either! I really like this video because the drummer is tearing it up on a four piece kit and really grooving. I'm a big fan of four piece drum kits and I could lock into a nice groove with other musicians and just play for hours! Forget fast playing, blast beats on the bass drum... nope, I definitely just want to get "in the pocket".
@rikkox1 yeah! This one records very well, tune's up really nice for a poppy sound, or loose for this rootsie sound.. I will never let go of this kit...
that's the way to make music sound good. It's not always about playing fast or super complicated. just make it sound good. definitely a great drummer/musician.
´Cause of this guys I get my drumset back from the attick and continue playin´. By the way, it´s a great song to do a pack of ciggs, bottle of booze and get convenient ;o)
ha ha, nice job. Love the whole thing and as I type, the fill starting 3:10, killer, tasteful. Love the song, never heard it before, but the drum part sounds perfect like it should have been recorded and produced that way. Cheers.
It is sad the kids get on the computer and play. I enjoyed the heck out of it.
you guys are hilarious! I used to spend hours upon hours on my stick control. Ted Reed was my middle name, but after a while I started to use all of them in different setting, to get different sounds. The great players find different ways to get different sounds. Maybe one day I can be one! ha. This grip was French Timpani Grip, linkdext had it right. John Robinson uses this grip all the time and gets ALOT of power from it. Go get some lessons and figure them all out before u bash them :).
With almost 20 years of experience I can say that it doesn't matter how you hold your sticks, as long as it works. It's not an optical question. If you can deal with your grip, then there's no need to change it.

With almost 20 years of experience I can say that it doesn't matter how you hold your sticks, as long as it works. It's not an optical question. If you can deal with your grip, then there's no need to change it.

insanedrummer89 3 years ago
the only thing that is unnecessary is something that doesn't add color and texture to the music, or gets in the way of vocals.
My snare is an all birch, standard size, and the cymbals are paiste. traditional ride, and signature hats and crash.
