  • I wish I could see what is written on the bottom of the sign. I can see the "Luv Ya Hermits" part, but what does it say underneath that? Did the girl write her name?

  • @stitchesful It looks like Come back but its written kome Back..Its a hard one.Ill have to check original footage for its better quality..Cya Sam

  • @sam28761 Thank you. If you find that original footage, could you then tell me where to find it?

  • @stitchesful I have original footage in digital.Just recorded it, Well not THE ORIGINAL, you know what I mean.Anyway it was on some show here in Aus, Didn't realize a had it until I was searching through some old video tapes for some other song.Lucky to get it...Sam

  • @sam28761 So you taped it off some local show?

  • @stitchesful Yes.Don't remember what show though...

  • @stitchesful Hey Sam here again,I checked the original HERMANS HERMITS clip and had a look at the sign and it says 'Love ya hermits Karen Barb" That is why he said we love you too.So there you go,,,,seeya SaM

  • @sam28761 Now I know exactly what it says. Mystery solved. Thanks again.

  • I wonder if anyone out there would have a video of the NBC special about the concert at Ohio State Fair.... There may have been video recorders out there then!

  • It's not easy to play 100% live like that. That was a great take!!

  • nice, always a classic tune

  • I love this song!

  • nice live take...

  • Hi Sam. The Hermits were headliners. The Ohio State Fair was most

likely a fair with a variety of entertainers but not like Monterey. In 1967 the

MPF was held in place of the annual Monterey Jazz Festival.FYI it was

Jimi Hendrix first outing in the US. I was stationed at the Defense Language

Institute in Monterey in the early 80's and studied Russian.

    Do Svidanya.

    Chris

  • @chrisbacos spasiba chris..thats about it for my Russian.I would have loved to have been at these concerts back in the 60s.Great era..thanks for your comments..sam

  • Here is some interesting info about this tour in 1967. The Who was

one of the warm up bands for the Hermits. It was the Who's first

US tour ever. The Who during this tour played the Monterey Pop

Festival and appeared on the Smothers Brothers variety show

on CBS and planted the seeds for both their American fan

    base and rock immortality.

  • @chrisbacos No i don't know anything about this concert. So the who didn't hit the u.s until the later part of the sixties.Wonder if hermans were the main act, or was it a festival like Monterey. Thanks for the info....SAM.

  • @sam28761 The Who's American debut was a bit earlier than this, in March 1967. They played NYC as part of a Murray the K show. Opening for The Who and Herman's Hermits on this tour was the Blues Magoos.

  • They did the best version of this song, and I've loved it since I was about 4 years old.

  • Unfortunately, I was not one of the cute little blond girls who had the great close-ups:-) I was actually on the third row (not 2nd) so there were some heads blocking me, but I'd know those pointy glasses anywhere. Funny thing is, the girl beside me has the same glasses and straight hair. I'm the one on the FAR left at 1:50. Anyway, when I first spotted my face, 1/2 of it, anyway, I was very amazed. And excited to see footage I didn't know existed. Definitely a wonderful trip down memory lane.

  • @GreatView4U I can see you on the far left glasses straight hair.Im so happy you could find yourself on the clip.Hey you will always be part of hermans hermits history.

Thanks for pointing yourself out.You were so lucky to be there. All the best to you.

    SAM

  • @GreatView4U That's so amazing that you found this footage of yourself after all these years! Did you have even the slightest clue that it existed? Okay, maybe you weren't one of the cute little blonds, but you were stilla cute young girl. And you should be so pround of yourself for having been a part of this fascinating time in rock history. Thank you for sharing that.

  • @GreatView4U

I didn't know this existed neither. I just took a chance! I was at the same shows that day! Was sitting in the 11th row when NBC came and had some us make a new row up front as they were making a special. Remember that? Anyway, it was the best day I had as a teenager and fan! My mom still talks about it as she, a family friend. a cousin and a friend were with me when we were asked to move!

  • Thank you, sam28761, for posting this. I wondered where you found it? It brought back many memories the first time I watched it. I remember this performance very clearly- I was there in 1967. After I replayed the video a couple of times, I saw a quick glimpse of myself in the audience. That was great fun! My friend, whose uncle got us tickets for the 2nd row, did not show up in the frame, though! That's sad. We were 16, from Lancaster, {about 40 miles away,} & thought Peter Noone was the best!

  • @GreatView4U It was just on a documentary about the band that was played on t.v here in Australia about a year ago. That was the only footage of that particular concert

on the documentary.Wow it must of been amazing to see yourself at a concert when you were so young.Could you see yourself clearly....?

  • Great performance and sweet feedback to the audience ("We love you, too"), but what's with the pajama pants that Peter's wearing? Is it agents that instruct entertainers how to dress and look or do they ever make those decisions themselves?

  • This was at the Ohio State Fair. I wish I lived in Columbus Ohio in 1967!! Great video!!

  • Thanks for posting this! What a great video for the time!
