Beautiful work. Seamless and homogeneous. But, it does seem to drive home the notion that all plots and imagery in current American science fiction are interchangeable. Like it is all created in the same General Motors plant in Flint, Michigan, that no one in American filmmaking has employed a unique vision since 1977.

But then, I am frequently accused of being a cynic. I believe that Oscars are purchased not earned. What a cynic.
