@ffx2fan122 Yeah I know she was. Poor Dazzler, the Pryde of the X-Men pilot was probably her best shot at being a series regular for any X-Men cartoon.

I think the comic book's Dazzler got her 80's style from a singer named Marie Fredriksson from the rock band Roxette. Rocker's were a big inspiration to comic book artists back in those days.

And as for Storm, you can look up Modjadji VI and the Rain Queens of South Africa. I'm sure they were the inspiration behind developments in that character, as well. Even CNN reported on these women who locals and early Dutch settlers believed had power over the clouds.

@ffx2fan122 Well, they're wrong. LOL It's rumored that her second look was modeled after Olivia Newton-John's shorter hair as well as Jamie Lee Curtis' crotch-thrustin' epic PERFECT. Regardless, it was not Marie Fredricksson. Dazz was sporting the look years before Roxette broke out.
