@Thefreddiem i never trained tkd many friends have and ive competed mixed against tkd guys once you close range they are screwed i favor joint attacks and strikes impose control the pace kinda fight try to force a mistake i think what ever style someone takes first should be a mix style so they are well roundd in all aspects and adapt to dif rythems quicker kinda lightfooted but still solid base some good mix examp mixboxing thai bjj japjj judo or you can take a old mma kempo or other style

Favorite = flying-axe-kick at the beginning.

It is just insane how much reflex and split-second thought these guys have. Especially the reverse-spin round-house kicks as you have to have some good timing and opening there which is tough to assess in combat situations.
