  • where i can buy that K&N air filter?

  • pls gve ur phn no, am also a fz owner am frm kerala, kottyam,i hve sme prblom in ma fz andk&n filter,

  • dude could u just tell me what's the cost of K&n airfilter

  • dude.. jetting is important ... u did good setting for K&N filter..... but u must do jetting if u don't do it u will have trouble because .... the air intake has increased but the fuel intake is the same.... the bike misses above 60-65.... or above 6000pm.....

  • 0.25 he reaches for the key....lol and what do u know it aint there :P

  • That's the wrong way of rigging your bike with K&N.. It must be fitted right under the seat by takin off the actual air filter block.. I had got it done to my bike the same way and had lot of trouble!! The starting trouble like your bike has, especially.. Now it's all good!!

  • did u cover that gap in the stock airfilter after removing that pipe??

  • oh thnx dude and did you rejet it after installing the new air filter?

  • i think u should show him how it installed then he will do tuning else give to Yamaha serves center they will do it

  • oi dude can you install this by yourself?? and how did you get it outside -the filter. thnx

  • ya u can install this by u r self better take it to a mech proper tuning will be done it's good for u & u'r bike

  • i dont know any proper mechanic over here,in sri lanka.i dont think any of em will do a good job installing the air filter, neva heard of a proper mech for these kind of jobs over here

  • and was there a perfomance increase?

  • dude wont this get soaked with water if it rains?

  • ya keep dreaming for 3 more day dude.....u wont say it agian...........

  • where the hell is part 2

  • fz 16 is fitted wit K&N hiairflow air filter STOCK

  • u should increase the fuel from the carburetor, by the adjustment screw, until the bike starts in one cold attempt......

the sound indicates, the fuel to air ratio is less than required, when the "whispering sound" disappears, consider ur bike pimped up....

best of luck and happy driving....

  • i got my K&N installed a month back, the same one which is shown on this clip. But i didnt get the results.. it increased the sound quality, but i lost my pickup. i cud hardly reach 100kms. r u facing the same problem? or shud i alter any settings?

  • tuning.... thats the most important... get the bike tuned and u'll feel the power... thats the most important.. nothing more important than that...

  • i think u shud rejet it

  • hey, how much does it cost?

is ther a k&n dealer in bangaluru?

  • i so miss the RX100 sound, but K&N seems to be a good alternative, please let me know, where the best place to get it installed in hyderabad?

  • sorry yaaar i am in kerala ...............

  • Thats Ok, My ODO is almost 2000, so i have to take my FZ for service, will find from yamaha guys about it., Thanks for your reply.

  • do proper rejetting from a knowledgable mechanic it will surely help...

  • yeap...............

  • u see their is big diff in sound that make feel great ........u see i haven't gone to the max but ..i have to about 118 km/hr...

  • hi,, someone said that there are many spoofs we get in the market that the garage people give 150Rs K&N for 1500 bucks.... so can any one tell me where can i get the original one or at least the Showroom in Bangalore ? someone answer to my question please.

  • contact a local mech...... a bit famous one in ur area...u can get iar filters for prices from 150 to anywhere upto 1500.......he'l get it... but chinese or jap made ones..... i guess......

  • temme da cost dude

  • it's about 1700 rps...........dude

  • Dude, i will be ordering mine from a K&M dealership in Delhi...can u give me the part no of the filter??

Also i see that you have attached it directly to the carb...but i guess one can attach it where the stock filter already is ... can that be done?

    Is re-jetting required??

  • get the point clear....... see the air filter, filters the air really well inspite of sucking in more air. more air being sucked in but less fule to burn...so re jetting is nothing but putting in bigger jets in the carb.... so more air+ more fuel=power...

  • Gotcha mate....thanks.

Also i am thinking ....more fuel to burn = less mileage..is it?

  • yes......... but keep ur bike under good maintenance and it will be an outright performer :-)..... also if u have noticed on the K&N air filter packaging boxes it is written (Only FOR RACING AND TRACK PURPOSE ONLY)....... if u find it economical and well worth, then go for it.... :-)

Here in bangalore cops catch guys whose bikes make the roaring and typical air filter sound... :-/

  • yea but its not illegal technically.. their just stupid...

  • dude i ve an fz too and i kept pete s filter too but recently i got some probs . My spark plug got some prob now , if i go at around 7000 or 8000 rpm then there is some miss firing and the bike start to behave as if its out of petrol when its not . Do you have any probs like that? Difference of power is obviously there but then is of no use . If any info about this please reply soon.

  • hey man i also own a fz..about the filter has it helped with the performance i mean speed and acceleration.....

  • deosn't it effect the cover... i mean ... can u cover it ? without any problem ?

  • i have seen this bike near sony world...i remember from the number plate style.

  • yes u said it ...............
