nitrous doesn't nessesarily make a car better. theres a lot of of things needed for a cars to have nitrous and not blow the engine. first you gotta modify the engine because you can't just put a nitro on a stock engine. you gotta get forged pistons, valves, cam shafts, and crank shafts. you also have to modify the transmission to handle the increased speed and torque. if you have a late model car you also have to modify the computer. video games make it seem so easy to put a nitro on a car.

5.85...that's really good for the nostalgia cars. The modern cars have advantages that make them faster. Some of it is just plane ole aerodynamics. Those two big side windows open grab a lot of air I can imagine LOL. Awesome show. Love the nostalgia cars. The modern top fuel funnys look like eggs with a flat back. The decals kinda make em look like real cars but not by much. The nostalgia cars aren't exactly real car bodys but they at least have a bit of shape to them.lets see em on tv

She licensed in Top Alcohol at 16 and Top Fuel at 18 and has never looked back. I've had the opportunity to talk with her both at Sacramento and Bakersfield a number of times, and a more down to earth human being you will never meet.

Wow! I love this nostalgia funny car racing. The bodies actually look like the cars they are supposed to represent! (The new FCs don't) I was a big FC fan back in the 60s-70s. That's when FXers became FCs & there were even many FCs run locally. back then they're almost cheap to build & campaign locally . I really miss those old days, but many of those old obsolete cars are still around. All they need is a little TLC to get them going again. & they can still do what they used to do + more!

I presume these cars are updated or in some cases brand new chassis? If I remember correctly you can't just bring out an old car and race it at todays speeds with the old technology and safety stuff.....I mean sure you would want better brakes and chutes and better harnesses but what else might be changed?

they have to have the chassis certified . i think it's only certified for a certain amount of time . then you go with another one .
