NO. all they do is make you more comfortable or a few grams lighter. comfort can be modified without spending a £100 on new shoes every month. and speed will increase using heavier boots.

alright... not trying to be a jerk but a prime example i find my statement a fact. the rabona. now the rabona is when you wrap your leg around blah blah blah. i can not see how on earth you can do that bare feet. btw, that is a skill, to do the rabona itself bare foot or with shoes. i once did it barefoot and as a result i smashed my right foot into the ground... but maybe it was cause i was a noob lol. but with shoes, i find it has more support cause it has the cushioning
