Circumcision is (a) usually done with the father or grandfather of the child holding him, (b) it is the cutting of some foreskin and not the penis itself, (c) it is originally a sanitary operation meant to help avoid infections and inflammation.
That said, there is no comparison between this culture and the one presented in the film.

I've been to a bris.
I watched the infant scream in horror while his mother, father, grandmother, and mohel held the infant and tried to calm it after it had been mutilated. The mohel sang loudly to cover-up the child screaming.
Parents are supposed to protect their children, not hand them over to a butcher to remove part of his penis.
Visit jewsagainstcircumcision if you want to LEARN. Or just keep mutilating your children deny them freedom to choose their own religion.

I think your approach to this issue is wrong. On that same rationale, you would deny babies from vaccination shots. Let me know when a large number of circumcised people complain about the process and then you'll have a point. While that is not the case, your argument is without one.

Not at all.
There are many reasons people are circumcised, and all of them are misguided. If people were educated about the procedure and the dramatic ramifications, they would never allow it to happen to their son.
The rates of circumcision are dropping in America, from almost two-thirds 20 years ago to less than 50 % today.
And many men are attempting to restore - as am I.
I recommend jewsagainstcircumcision. You can learn alot.
