Great Song. I had never heard this song before and yet the song has reached my top 10 list already. ... I noticed the genius of music director/singer/lyricist that s/he did not hesitate to choose the word laut instead of waapis, an Urdu word. I am not a Pakistani, but my guess is waapis would normally be a preferred word there. Laut is more often used in UP/Bihar. Am I thinking right?

Hi :) no in urdu we use different words for different occasions and situaions. Like arabic and Farsi (persian) Urdu has also a very vast vocabulary. There are several words possessing the same meanings.

Thank you Ahmed. This song is from the film 'Pakiza', starring Zeba, Ejaz in the lead and Mohd Ali as a villian. The story is based on the classic 'Tess of the Dubervilles'by Thomas Hardy. There is a movie by this name also, if you are interested to watch it. Pakiza took a number of movies completing.Beautiful movies, but alas didnt do well at the box office as Peolpe were not willing to accept Zeba and ALi in those roles. I do hope someone may succeed in acquiring this film.
