  • Great tones!

  • AWESOME

  • great job!

  • sounds so good.

  • Sweet sounds. Suhr makes a great guitar, yes? I just got an older Superdrive 30 handwired head, mid 100's serial number. I love the 'clean' channel, but driven a bit. The drive side can be a bit much but still is really useful. Rock on man, nice job.

  • Geat tone and some great playing tooooooooo. Very nice. Now I have to see, who sells these amps in CT. LOL

  • do you like the elixir nanowebs the Suhr came with? I'm not too crazy about them so far. My S4 came with 10s, but the guitar beats everything I've ever played by thousands of miles! The frets are out of this world!

  • what kind of speakers are in your cab? nice playing btw

  • What are your amp settings for clean & normal channel? thx

  • nice work there !!

what's the Suhrs body wood? (swamp ash?)

  • tye first number sounds like srv, is it?

  • You wouldnt happen to know the name to the last song you played?

  • The tone in your fingers is great. Sure, expensive gear can make you sound better, but your fingers are allways the limit!

  • well played man! nice blues/country tone amazing!

  • wow - everythings refined. Im not sure if I like that or not though haha.

Just kidding - much more pleasing to the mainstream ear.

  • Great tone :)

  • I played on a budda amp yesterday and I was amazed! thinking of buying one..

  • I was deciding whether to get a Gibson (same model as Robben Ford), a G & L Telecaster Bahamian Blue or a G & L Legacy Red color guitar or a Suhr S-2 or S-3 Pro series. Those Suhr guitars are sure sweet but I just cant afford to pay that kind of money (about $3,000 to $4,000) for a sweet great guitar because I will feel so guilty if I look at my daughter since I could have spent the money buying her something she needs or wants. By the way, you really sound really good bro. Keep on rocking.

  • Great playing and really nice tone. I found your vid from the Suhr forum, I own a carved top standard but really want a classic, I'm going to be joining the seafoam green club too :D Rosewood fretboard for me though :)

  • I've been saving money for that guitar, i got 1000 so far. Same color too

  • I gotta get me one of those!

  • Hey man love your tone and love your attitude

    rock on

  • Wow, great stuff and great tone. Plus, your humility is refreshing but not necessary, you rock dude!!

  • Man, that's some of the best tone I've heard in a long time! I want to try one of those Suhr too. I have a twinmaster and g&l s500. Very killer combo also!

  • Nice guitar, nice amp and nice tones. What else ?

  • I just bought a Suhr Pro Series S-2 (sea foam green) just like yours. Waiting anxiously for the guitar to arrive. Thanks for giving me something of a preview of what to expect!

  • Stevie Ray Vaughan would be proud of you ;)

  • Didn't hear any 'clams', but did hear some darn sweet tones, Bro...

  • what kind of speaker cab is that? brand? 2x12? 4x12?

  • ii have the S1

    they sound similar

nice guitar and nice playing man

  • The guitar is their Pro Series s2. It's Alder body.

  • great playing! btw, is your guitar custom classic or standard?

  • great playing mate, how do the suhr strats compare to fender original of the same sort of money though???

  • i had the superdrive combo, i must admit i could never get a sound i liked out of it.

im glad you got one to work for you

  • SRV powa ! Sounds great. It's a pity that you didn't buy a Purple Suhr to match the Budda, lol.

  • Sweet tones and playing! Is that an SSV in the bridge and V60 LP's in the neck and middle?

  • amazing video! your playing's just amazing as your tone, nothing to be ashamed of!

just curious, what wah pedal do you use?

  • Thank you very much. The wah is an Emma Discombobulator.

  • The only thing I'd work on for your genre of music is the phrasing when you play the E voicing of E pentatonic (at the 12th fret). Other than that you're not bad at all.

  • Thank you for your kind words. I really appreciate it. All of you have been too kind and I'm glad this video has been enjoyed.

  • The good thing about your playing is the phrasing. You don't stop and start, and you are obviously hearing a beat in your head while you are playing so it makes it very easy to listen to you. Very nice!!! You are a natural musician because you obviously understand BEING musical.

  • It hurts me to see great amps and axes and axmen relegated to the garages and basements of the world. Burst free! Kick out the accutrements of women and kids and take your rightful place in the world!

  • don't fool yourself, man your an awesome player!

  • hey great amp! Where i get this amp and how much is it?^^

  • Wow love that glassy tone. Great guitar and amp.

  • can you turn this amp up loud, and still get a clean sound?

  • Yes, but it's not a pristine clean at loud volumes... it's more of a slightly gritty 'cleanish'

  • cool. even if it was a little bit gritty, i could probobly roll back the volume on guitar, or just mic the amp. i want one of these! my hot rod delxue sucks.

  • hahaa..ur ahead of me this time!great demo

  • can u cut me a piece of sheppards pie this amp kicks every other amp i have ever heards ass

  • I appreciate all the positive comments posted here! Thank you all for taking the time.

  • Great stuff, dog.

  • nice bluesy sound: great!

  • not a combo...

  • john suhr makes amazing guitars i have two a strat and a tele

  • dude that tone kick ass!Even tough i would had a reverb =P

  • Nice playing and GREAT tone bro! That amp and guitar make you want to play. I dig it.

  • You guys are missing the point...

Its the amp not the pickups...BUDDAS ROCK!

And a great set of hands-nice playing!

  • as much as you are correct that is one sweet ass guitar he has.

  • Which pickups you use?!?, this sound is fantastic!

  • What pickups do have in that strat? I like that fat sound.

  • The sc pickups sound great but the HB pickup has alot of clarity as well. Do you feel that's because of the 25 1/2 inch scale or is the amp just that good? I not a big fan of HBs but they sound great when you're playing.

  • Thank you all for the kind words! I appreciate the comments.

djsuckapunchh, My Suhr came from a place called Nitro Tone in Cambridge, MA. I've had a few American Strats and they're very nice guitars. I think they compare well to the Suhr. I prefer the Suhr for the feel and sound of it but the American Strats are really nice too.

  • man, nice playing!

i was wondering, where did you get your Suhr? i've searched everywhere and can't find a place to get one.

and, if you know, do you think, say a, fender american series strat compares to it?

  • Really enjoyed this demo on multiple levels: great demo of the amp (which I was looking for) but a great, great demo of the suhr strat too, and furthermore a nice little guitar lesson on some classic licks! Way to go man!

  • hey, i didn't want that Robin Trower tune to end !!!

  • Very nice sound!

  • Geez, I was trying to reply to a nice comment someone made and I think I deleted it by accident. To the person who commented:

I'm sorry I deleted you! Thanks for the kind words.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words and I hope I answered your questions.

  • people always say they are no good when they are because someone is always better than them i say it but this guy does rock I HAVE TO GET ME A SURH and get rid of this ESP

  • Thanks a lot! Suhr as a great guitar - the nicest I've ever played.

  • What kind of pedal is that at about 5:00?

  • that's just the Budda footswitch going to the drive channel. No pedal there, all Budda!

  • y would you say your not a good guitar player...you rock

  • Thanks a lot. I'm just nowhere near as good as the people I play with... I wish I was better - I guess we all do!

  • are you a joe bonamassa fan?

  • Yes. Definitely!

  • i live in his hometown in yorkville hes my faverite blues guitarest i know his father and ive played with joe about 3 times.

  • What cab are you using? What speakers? Thanks!

  • The cab is an Avatar 2x12 with one Celestion V30 and one G12H30

  • I like your playin man, keep jammin

  • when i opened the vid, at first i thought i was watching everybody loves raymond(sound sound like ray)..btw, cool playing, i wish i had a suhr

  • Haha, thanks.. I think ;-)

  • What pickups do you have?

  • They are the stock pickups:

SSV humbucker at the bridge and 2 V60LP single coils.

  • Thank you all for the kind words! The Budda does sound great even at very low volumes. It's the only tube amp I own that doesn't want to be cranked to sound great.

  • Very cool! Nice, pure tube tone from that amp! And it sounds like the volume was pretty low - great tube sound at reasonable volumes? Me want!!

    PS--Nice touch!

  • Man, nice gear! Do what you love, love what you do.

  • Very interesting video, man!!

  • Great clip! I think I want to buy a Budda!

  • You friggin' rock! POST MORE!!!

  • Kewl Demo ! Nice Tone !!!

  • Thanks for posting!

    Lew

  • Thank you all very much for the kind words! I will be doing another clip in the near future and I'll include the amp settings. I am using the stock tubes.

  • More clips! Could you zoom into the settings? That is always a nice add. Great playing, btw. Stock tubes?

  • I love my PTP Budda SD20 2x12. Nice tones and good playing.

  • good stuff!

  • Sweet clip JCV! Great tone and great playing by you!
