Actually, the corvette can corner very well. And demolishes the GTR on the Nuringburgring. Just wait until the 2013 model are officially revealed, the corvette is really going to be a world class sports car. At this moment I would choose a GTR, but in a year, that could very well change.

Actually a lot of people who buy the GTR go racing on the weekend with these cars. 1/4 mile and road courses. And again, you loose time shifting a manual car in the quarter mile. 6-speed manual shifting 3 times before completing the quarter mile will usually be 3 tenths slower through the quarter than a dual-clutch auto. It's called advancement in technology...and with 485HP you can have all sorts of fun. You don't HAVE to have a manual to have a blast with a GTR.

dual-clutch + almost no shift times = smooth power delivery. You can lose up to 3 tenths in the 1/4 mile just from manual shift times...and almost all of the professional racing cars (like F1) use paddle shifters...have for years. Keeps your hands on the wheel when you're exiting a corner at 120mph trying to line up your apex.

I'm still a huge JDM fan, but american beats japanese any day of the week in my book. The Corvette has existed for more than 40 years and there was nothing Japanese made that could compete with it. Not even today can the GTR take on a Z06.
