@eehab1234 your right, you can skip some of the steps he did, all you need to do is do it on gimp, open all as layers, get the correct images, set images to alpha channel and rub out what you don't need and shift it around, easy as pie

Little tip for folks using images with a white box, like the Microsoft logo. If it works anything like Photoshop, selecting "multiply" from the blend options will make it transparent. This makes all white pixels in the layer transparent, so if the artwork has any white in it it'll get rid of that too. It'll give you a nice cleaner result though if it's black for example.

It's not done that well. I would suggest improving the logos and renders so that they aren't that pixel-ly. You can also get full Xbox 360 templates from many sources instead of pulling one from the net.

@MugenPlaya I don't think this was supposed to be a "how to really do it properly" tutorial. Plus it'd make the video much longer if he did. Also you wouldn't use GIMP (or Photoshop either) for this sort of thing if it was intended for print and real use, you'd use something like InDesign or Quark Express (or Scribus I think it's called as a free open source alternative) using vectors where possible (logo's and so on) and high resolution images. Not to mention bleeds and margins blah blah.

@BMX1061 Gimp does not suck; you just can't figure it out. It's actually pretty simple. And you want to make sure you open it as the exact size you want to see everything. If this doesn't help... sorry. Also, make sure you have GIMP 2.6-- the latest version.

@BMX1061 you should try getting familiar with the program before trying something like making a fake game case. Gimp is pretty much like Adobe Photoshop and is simple to use. The good thing about Gimp is that it's free, so for people like me who are pretty much broke can afford this. :)
