  • adrian edmonson on the drums?

  • Great stuff. I've found one album (Colossus) on emusic - it'd be great if Implosion and Cybotron could also be listed...

  • Capodopera

  • Great song of the great times... There wer no DJs, no "PressButton" players, no sh+t... Just synthesizers, ideas, feelings and playing abilities...

  • Hey everyone!

I noticed yesterday that Australia's youth, alternate station, Triple J, has listed Cybotron's most popular album, Colossus, on the shortlist of Australia's Top 100 albums.

If you guys could take a little time and head to abc.net.au/triplej/hottest100/alltime/11/ and click C and vote 'Cybotron -Colossus', it would mean the world to me and my dad, Geoff Green.

    Cheers guys. Peace. x

  • @shazzatpm : Lee the Roadie sends his warmest regards. Still waiting for "Loch Ness", old mate! :)

    Contact me on bugzapper57@yahoo.com.au

  • @shazzatpm a load of pish,,,or should i just say shit you choose

  • I was looking for american Techno artist Cybotron, but this also sounds good.

  • i was looking for the computer collosus from ww2. but im glad i found this

  • As far as the band is concerned, all of the material is outstanding, no exceptions!! Okay?!

    Thanks for the uploads, shazzatpm!

  • rad.

  • E P I C . ...and the glimpses of Aussie suburbia i.t. background almost transport it into a parallel universe...

  • feck sex, drugs n rock n roll.... i want sax, synth n acid (mmm.. on second thought, maby sex, acid n synth n sax wid be better ...and sum weed afterwards)

  • Just discovered these guys through the techno band cybotron from the 80s. But the original cybotron is better im loving this. What a find, loving the 70s look and synths quality sound and sax 3 thumbs up.

  • reminds me of floyd's live at pompeii

  • wierd...kinda cool...

  • Australian Krautrock!

  • At first, I thought this was the Gibb brothers finally getting their act together.

  • @4darin5 LMAO!

  • this is amazingggggggg

    thanks you very much

  • THIS is real song, not so many crazy notes as a Dream Theater, not simple to be commercial

Melody, the best keyboards ever, someone have to teach these progressive metal youth

  • @GabrielDhalaman2 Dun think has nothing to do one with the other, but yes, DT puts me to sleep, while this puts me on the way to the galaxy :P

  • This is awesome : ) ┈━==≡≡≡∎∎°∴~ ♪♫

  • OMG they are in the future. Look at the wires as proof. LMAO!

  • There is some definite confusion lol i didnt even know this group existed! yes and coincadently another group from the detroit area emerged just a couple of years after their disbandment! Also electronica as well! hmmm! lol

  • Visually it is very much copied from PInk Floyd at Pompej...

  • Reminds me a bit of Italian Prog rockers Goblin.

  • this sounds so 80s anime intro sequence

  • They were so ahead of their time. Their 80's stuff is the best, timeless yet nostalgic. awesome.

  • @rosieanneliese Their 80's stuff? The band disbanded in 1980; the last album was released in 1980, Implosion ,but did not consist of the classic line-up. Are you sure you are not confused with the US band, Cybotron, which came to prominence in the 80's?

  • @shazzatpm im pretty sure rosie is, many people get the two confused.

  • @shazzatpm

She nailed you there, eh !

  • @shazzatpm Well I like both then ;p

  • @rosieanneliese This is - kind of - not as austere as the people you're thinking of, no?

  • wow i'm really diggin this i just wish it was longer!;-)

  • fantastic music

  • i had two of cybotrons albums....have never got over the music....awesome and surreal

this track is my faorite tho i know it goes for longer than 3 minutes..

  • Thanks for the gearlist!

  • My favorite part was the video wobble artifact at 2:03. Having grown up watching VHS bootlegs until they degraded to unviewable noise, that sound is pure magic to my ears.

  • @RDLoehrke yes, U right, that's ma favourite part too... pure magic !

  • This is GREAT !!!!

  • i lika this

  • You can´t help but to think at Pink Floyd´s Pompeii, in the first seconds

  • whoa thats fuckin cool!

  • Mighty and Majestic

  • a 2:04. i really miss that in the old beta and vhs

  • haha yea thats fab .. i love that also

  • good stuff, shame about the saxophone though

    ;-)

  • I looked this up thinking it was the Cybotron of "Clear" fame, but turns out that I like this too.

  • it's that last 20 seconds or so that i love

  • I could not see the entire PA system setup in this video. Is it quadraphonic by chance?

  • 5* .

  • I remade this video, with a 320 kbit wave file. The sound in this video is droning out a bit :P. But it got some originality.

  • GREAT MUSIC!The first part, when there's that beat with slow saxophone in the background is AMAZING!!!I like their style better than Tangerine dream and klaus shulze,This and "Arrakis"Are super beutifull tracks of electronic music.Too bad that band died so early....

POST SOME MORE I BEG YOU.

  • The videos I posted are the only three filmed.

  • @shazzatpm you can tell your dad that his music is trully amazing and still inspiring for the new generation (23y here). cheers from portugal!

  • @WolfgangAmadeusF

i had two of these albums on vinyl years ago and have never forgotten the music awesome and surreal....now i am looking to buy the three albums they made...not having much luck tho...

    ethellred

  • epic.

  • this sounds like 16-bit era video game music.

  • Exactly!

  • this isnt juan atkins, but its just as damn good, maybe better.

  • If not a video, at least some clip with Medusa. It's a great track and it would be nice to post it on Tube.

  • Would you be so kind and post Medusa?

  • A video of them? They never recorded a ivdeo for Medusa.

  • @shazzatpm why don't you make videos of the band? i'm sure you have home footage and rights to the music.

  • @minimomaximo Do you mean putting up the studio versions of songs onto YouTube?

  • @shazzatpm either studio versions or live ones, if folk like this band so much, it's a shame there are only 3 videos of them on YouTube, they have that 70's vibe on their music. Either way, it was cool for them to experiment when Disco became rampant.

  • @minimomaximo Yeah, I have been meaning to. I do have all three albums complete. I believe there are a couple of torrents now around. I doubt my dad would care, as he is well aware of the internet's impact on royalties and whatnot. I'm visiting him tomorrow so I will ask him then!

We were actually contemplating making an official website.

  • @shazzatpm , yes please to share and official site!!

  • handsome guys!

  • Coole Gestalten.

    Gute Musikk.

  • great

  • I never knew anything about this band!great stuff

  • Amazing!

  • heisse shit!

  • how are they getting power. is it mimed. BTW. I did indeed enjoy it.

  • Great!

I'd love to hear a metal band cover it too ;p

  • Very nice song! Looks like my setup of keyboards, any gearlist shazzatpm?

  • I'll ask my dad (Geoff Green) if he knows of the gearlist when I go home next. Cheers!
