  • i wonder how james feels when he sings the line "you make me feel like a natural woman"

  • Gotta love's Carole's smile when she sings out of tune :) I think she had some vocal problems during the Troubadour tour, but she can still sing like the Carole of old on a good day.

  • so why don't these two just get married or something...........geez! After all these years!!

  • This LEGONDARY DUO and as SOLOS.... STILL ROCKS.. ! Still LOVE you Carole and JAMES! BRAVO.. KEEP ROCKING!

  • Like fine wine they only get betta and more beautiful

  • It's a shame Carly Simon isn't singing with James on "How Sweet It Is" If Dave could bring Sonny and Cher together, hmmmmmmmmmm

  • for being her age, she still sounds great.

  • @estebancasanova I have a tremendous respect for singers who can still sing their songs in the original key they were written in decades after they were released. These two are no exception. Wonderful!

  • very good

  • Carole and James are supposed to MARRY

  • @MacLenHarStar Nice idea but minstrels don't and the partnership wasn't about conformity. They were am-establishment in that they kept a lot of people entertained, however marriage is for convenience, religion and tax reasons isn't it?

  • Fantastic video...love Carole and James...still lookin good!!

  • Nos hizo falta que su gira de Trobadores, la hicieran también en Mexico!

We don´t want to miss the tour Carol King and James Taylor, we'll waiting in Mexico !

  • perfect !

  • Thank you so much for posting this. Loved it!!!

  • I'm happy , now !

  • Absolutely fantastic songs and performances here. Love both of them and missed this on TV/thanks for the post here on YouTube. Fantastic giftedness and talent displayed here and no mistakes at all of course.

  • I diden´t know that Lee Sklar was in the band. Is that only for once or is he in the band every night.

I agree this is the best band on tv.

I think that Paul S. is realy a gineuss.

  • @snickaren71 Oh, yeah, at the very, very, very end. No, he's not a regular; but I agree with you on Paul S.

  • @fortehlulz9999 Dude....you are one serious dumbass piece of shit! Why not rent a chipper and jump into it and make the world a better place for you absence. Go fuck yourself!

  • @D1994 NO U!

  • haha! Lee Sklar there at the end...AWESOME!!!!

  • Still the best band on TV.....What a difference with Conan and his cruise ship band..wow!

  • @TheJsimone......maybe it's time for you to stop listening to live music and sit in a room with a CD. Problem solved. Maybe they recorded them in the wrong way (in your professional opinion) in the first place and are still trying to get it right!

  • Grab the audio from this tune at tubepull doht cohm.

  • TheJsimone....ummm, Taylor didn't write How Sweet It Is. Holland-Dozier-Holland did. Anyway, forget who wrote it...why does modulation bother you? People express similar ideas in different ways. Do you always do everything the same way? It would be a boring world if we did. That doesn't mean I always like the way artists change songs, but it's understandable why they would want to from time to time.

  • Why, why, WHY do these classic artists continue to change the melody of the songs they wrote, performed and gave to the public so many years ago. How Sweet It Is does NOT go like that. PLEASE, if you're tired of singing the songs the way you recorded them....then STOP perfomring them....PLEASE!!! And I LOVE these guys!

  • @TheJsimone because not every artist remember EVERY melody lines exactly when u have about 30 songs on your hands....IT IS NOT EASY!

  • @TheJsimone

    I 100% disagree!

Ask Van Morrison , Joni or Dylan this question...I bet they would have quite an answer.

Just bcs they no longer perform the songs as they recorded them 30-40 yrs ago does

not mean they do not like the tunes....they just do not want to begin to dislike them.

If all artists had to choose btwn repeating the original or not perform,

NONE of the greats would ever hit the stage. That would be a drag.

  • @TheJsimone Bull...you love them only on one condition..that they do things the way YOU want them done.. a TRUE fan loves them and supports them in whatever they do. get over yourself.

  • @TheJsimone His song, not yours, dude. Some nerve!

  • Carole King & James Taylor..Wow..What a treat!

  • Nobody sing it as good as Carole no one! not even aretha and im a true carole fan and I feel good enough to say it that good songs that carole wrote and other people covered it..they simple butchered it

  • @tastycashew um,,Aretha ,yeah right.

Karen Carpenter ,Olivia and Linda and a couple of others way out class refer and Carol certainly does

  • Two of the greatest singer/songwriters of this generation.

JT sounds better than ever. Carole King is more beautiful in heart and soul.

  • Dave is such a schmuck,, "yeah how ya doin ,good to see ya,"then walks off,,he does this to all his guest,,just a job I guess,,one that many would love. he insults the guest with his attitude

  • @MrSteveUtah ,,,dave was actually really nice to them...did you watch the same video i did??

  • @MrSteveUtah I disagree. I think he [Letterman] is polite and welcoming; he walks off because it is the guest's moment to have the spotlight. He tries to hit the fine line of being casual, yet with a touch of the formality that comes with the role of host. Nevertheless, I understand that some people just don't like him. Fair enough.

  • @benjaminlhaines I do not mind him,,But he is a little stale and Maybe he is not aloud to show any Biased

  • @MrSteveUtah Yeah, I can see that; the same schtick for 20 plus years is bound to come off stale; I guess he is past his prime. As for not being allowed to show bias, well, they are all his guests, so he sort of has to be 'up' and come on saying something like, "Great job, guys!, sounding good!" and then, he usually holds up the CD again and states the artist's name again and says goodnight. He's consistent at promoting his guests.

  • this is whats up

  • You can get this mp3 at instantmp3s..com

  • Aging gracefully ,

  • oh, and he lost hair. lol

  • She lost her voice? sad

  • Two great legends! Amazing!! A pity the Tour didn't come to Europe (as far as I know). How sweet it is....

  • It all happens on Dave!

  • Carole King has aged gracefully & her soul shines through her eyes & smile, a breath of fresh air.

  • great singers...love their songs...i use to hear them when i was a little girl in the late 70's...they were are my parents and uncles fav singers...we used to have their albums...

  • Thanks for posting it. And thanks to Letterman also, for bringing them on!

  • Comment removed

  • Great

  • please tell me they're coming to europe?

  • They were in Oakland tonight. Pure magic.

  • Magic!! 10/10

  • amazing

  • Just saw their show at the United Center in Chicago tonight. WOW

  • uhm... the second song's title is actually "How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You)"

  • starts sounding like an oldies review when you don't let the artists play the whole song...

  • Nothing more depressing than a Carole King or James Taylor song..

  • simply wonderful

  • Carole is King!!

  • Legends.

  • they're troubadour reunion tour was the best concert i've ever been to by far. it's not to be missed. they're both still unbelievable

  • The hat is par for the 30+ year coarse... Why change now...... Jt is a beast! If you buy his albums and listen to the intricate details of both his vocal style and his amazing guitar mojo you will undoubtedly respect the hat... Lol

  • Seeing these two together again is like seeing two old friends back in town. These two legends are what give meaning to the word classy. I just can't put in words how much of an inspiration Carole King and James Taylor have been to me all these many years. They truly only get better with age. Can't say the same for me. Miss those good old days. The memories I will carry with me always.

  • Great stuff! Where can I get a hat like that? :)

  • James Taylor is a drag (1000 x 1000)

  • @vaccavo..Hey dude..How;s it goin ,...You still takin it up the ass ?

  • @fireandrain1 ROFLMAO!!!!!

  • James Taylor is a drag (2)

  • This past Friday I saw these two in Toronto at the ACC. great show to saw the least. Third time i've seen James and first for Carol.

  • Beautiful people, beautiful voices, beautiful performance! Thanks for posting this!

  • What's up with the hat??? get rid of it and keep singing!!! I LOVE THIS!!!

  • My mom just saw them Saturday :)

  • Just saw them on May 9, 2010 in Seattle. Dang, they are still good.

  • Saw them yesterday! :) MINDBLOWINGLY GOOD.

  • Shit, I forgot how good Paul Shaffer and his band are, they really pump it out on How Sweet It Is. Saw these two about a month ago...great concert.

  • I remember OMG !!...

  • saw them in Tokyo. Truly awesome concert!!!!!

  • May 13th! Hollywood Bowl! Surprising my mother! I can't wait!!!!!

  • saw them in christchurch. brilliant. james taylor was on fire

  • Just Saw them Christchurch NZ Awsome!

  • Saw them on their last night in Sydney. They were having so much fun they didn't want to go home, and neither did we, they came back for 5 encores and we ended up dancing to Carole King singing Locomotion. Doesn't get any better than this concert!

  • I saw them in the Hunter Valley Australia last night - sounded just as good as 40 years ago - one of the very best concerts I've ever been to. Billiant!

  • Can't wait to see them live with the old band! Seeing them thursday night!

  • I saw them in Melbs last night. Awesome!

And vaccavo, pointless unsubstantiated comments are a drag.

  • still fabulous!!!

  • James Taylor is a drag!

  • you are either young or have no sense of music.these two icons of the music world will be dearly lost when their time comes so for now enjoy their wonderfull music

  • @vaccavo : Every party has a pooper and I guess you're it.

  • She a fn diva!

  • I'll be seeing them in Seattle, tickets were expensive but worth every dime!

  • sad - some people don't know when to quit.

  • Comment removed

  • will they come to the uk do you think?

  • YES!!! This performance had a better sound quality than the Today Show, who did little to accommodate the way that the sound resonated off their stupid walls...I'm going to see Carole and James in concert in Sydney!! SOOOO FRAKKING EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!

  • me too! on the 6th of April! :D

  • I ENVY Dave for being Dave and shaking hands with James...! ;-)

They are both my favourite icons...

  • NIce performance. Thank you.

  • James Taylor's voice has more than stood the test of time and Carole's ain't that bad either! I SO hope The Troubador tour will come to theUK - I could die happy if I saw the two of them perform together here in London....

  • Great. So glad to see them together on stage

  • Unfortunately, bassist Lee Sklar was with JT and Carole for this show (and also the Today Show the same day), but Lee is not seen in this video. He was playing over to the side with the band! I watched the show on t.v. and there was (finally) a nice shot of Lee playing with the band right after this video cuts off. He and the rest of The Section are playing with Carole and James on the four month tour beginning in March.

  • @snowdancer That's great to hear. I read an interview with Sklar from a few years ago where he said he and James had a falling out and he hadn't even spoke with him since 1989.

  • @Jamdor78 Don't know about that, but all is well now! They had a fantastic tour, love vibes all around.

  • carole appears to have lost some range{bad} but has gained a sexy raspyness{good}.i hope she can finish their tour as i would LUV to see them. i seen her in 1981 and it was a great show. she included a local gospel group as background singers SWEET

  • Excellent, also the Band, and Paul.

  • Good performance, bad encode. I really appreciate the "AudioPerv" people for sharing all the stuff they do, but my analog capture of this show was better than this!? Obviously it came from an HD source, so why does it look like crap here?

  • LOVE them! :) Thanks!

  • Icons! Two of my favorite!

  • This gives me hope, singing at an older age., that James Taylor's voice sounds as fantastic as it always did. May your tour be a huge success, lots of grace and strength, and we look forward to you visiting Dallas. God isn't through with you yet.

  • Not a huge James Taylor fan but I enjoyed that probably more because Carol's history with the show goes back to her performing on the Radio City Music Hall organ for one of the anniversary shows there at the Late Night NBC days (and actually before that on the show itself).

  • I love them SO!!!!!!

  • Fabulous

  • I didn't see the show. Did they get to say anything about the benefit for the Haiti Earthquake victims concerts they're doing together in Great Barrington, MA this weekend?

  • So great! Can't wait for the tour either.

  • Soooo cool!!! James' guitar suits her songs so damn good!

  • Nice! Looking forward to the tour ~
