Actually not even modern aircraft can fly upside for long periods of time as the fuel will simply not get through the engine. This is often because the fuel pumps are not that powerful so they can be smaller to save weight in the aircraft.

The engine cut off is caused by negative g's... engines in them days where subject to it due to the way they where designed and the fuel flow

I like the wooden propeller, kinda looks like Charles Lindbergh's old backup propeller for the Spirit of St. Louis. Also, for the inverted engine failure, I think it has something to do with the way the engine pumps fuel through it's lines. They didn't really have pressurized fuel injecters back then...Thanks for uploading!

We will need to wait a little longer before we find anything out about Flight

@airbusboy01 You obviously don't know a lot about WW1 aircraft, for awhile they did shoot there own propeller, a German pilot invented a a delay rod that every time the propeller went past the barrel it would stop the firing so that made the bullets fly in between each blade that technology was used on every prop fighter with a gun behind the blades.

@Synergy9k Hi, the propeller was geared in sync with the guns so that it only fired through the gaps as it spun. The same principle that stops Chinook blades from hitting each other
