  • were doing this for school at the fair!

  • THIS WAS BEFORE MY TIMES. BUT I LOVE THE BEAT AND THE SIGNING.

  • This is the Andrews Sisters!!! Ugh. This was there re recorded version from the 1960's. They re recorded there hits in the 50's and then again in the 60's for DOT. This is them, but this audio is a tad sped up. If yall look at my videos I lip sync to this song. It's playing on my record player at the correct speed if yall want to hear what it's suppose to sound like,

  • That sounds an awful lot like Patty...It doesn't sound like the sisters. The rhythm section sounds later than the original, but the rest sounds older. Interesting.

  • This is SOOOO not the Andrew sisters b/c if u click the visual aid project this kid had to do under "boogie woogie bugle boy of company b" they sing wayyyy different so just understand that is not them.

  • THIS IS THE BEST SONG EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love this version of the song--better than the original or other remakes with the trumpet intro...although that seems more appropriate because of the lyrics :S

  • Very Well Done, from a time when Hollywood did'nt loath our men in Uniform! I collect WWII Photographs and your selection is Great! Bravo! topazcat1 2/33 Armor

  • brillient so funny & cute

  • i love it!!! it sounds like 1940's. i wonder who are the singers? i love them!

  • @JarHeadMedia Read the description, its the Andrews Sisters.

  • Its TWIST like in early 60s - how come???

  • I'm the author of "Swing It! The Andrews Sisters Story" (University Press of Kentucky). This is Patty, Maxene & LaVerne singing "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" in a modernized stereo version for Dot Records in the early-1960s. Unfortunately, the speed here is terribly fast. They recorded about 8 LPs for Dot from 1962-1966, which were new versions of their greatest hits, as well as more current material ("Puff! The Magic Dragon," "Blue Hawaii," Is It Really Over?," & more, all still unissued on CD.

  • Yikes! At :35, is the guy marching with the 3 women (and the only one w/ no rifle!) Shemp Howard?

  • Yessir! That is our beloved Shemp, sometime before he rejoined his brother Moe and friend Larry in 1947, after Babe (Curly) had a severe stroke.

  • I don't think this is the Andrews Sisters...

  • It is the Andrews Sisters but a version recorded later on in their lives

  • sound like the awesome christina aguilera candyman's song ! looove

  • the soldier with a trumpet at the first picture is a polish soldier at the top of the Monte Casino. Right after Poland liberated it from german paratroopers.

  • @uncleblues

This is Master Corporal Emil Czech, 12th Podole Ulan Regiment, 3rd Carpathian Div, Polish II Corps. 18th Mai 1944. He plays Hejnał Mariacki (Cracovian Hymn, St. Mary's dawn).

  • you sure this is the andrew sisters? doesn't sound right for them. They had a richer sound and less of a teen pop sound-this sounds like a remake passing as them.

  • No, the Christina Aguilera clip is in the style of the Andrew Sisters, but a song covered from Jerry Lee Lewis ^^ sweet though :)

  • The Andrew Sisters didn't really have a lot to do with Boogie-Woogie as a whole, themselves. They mostly did ballads and added this tune to their repitoire to sample the emerging boogie-woogie scene and liven up their shows.

Lol, everyone is influenced by everyone else. That's just the nature of music . . .

Anyway, Thank you SO MUCH for posting this tune. It may be one of the best things to come out of the 40's.

  • BoojumFed: I am the author of "Swing It! The Andrews Sisters Story" (University Press of Kentucky), now available in paperback. The trio rocketed to stardom with their unique vocalizations of the swing, jazz & boogie-woogie idioms in the late 1930s, & were the first singers to vocalize the rolling piano rhythms of boogie-woogie, producing hit after hit in this genre. They didn't achieve major success with ballads until 1949-1951 ("I Can Dream, Can't I," "I Wanna Be Loved," & several others).

  • Fair enough. I stand ( or at least sit here) corrected.

  • This recording it's more clear in sound than the video that show the girls singing to the camera.

  • Love it love it love it tks. so much

  • Of course it does but this is 100% better than that modern trash.

  • we sang this in music last year...i just love this song =D

  • "candyman" doesnt sound like this... what are ppl talking about?

  • if you hear other versions of this song, you sure can hear it! Christina had made new "up-to-date" boogie woogie bugle boy!

  • The Aguilera/Perry song 'Candyman' is in the same style as this tune. (Note the 3-part harmony in the front line vocals, the Boogie-Woogie tempo, and the walking bass line in the rhythm section) The only thing they added to 'modernize' it was a bunch of hilariously dirty lyrics . . .
