  • I want two of these but whenever I enquire, they are out of stock at Dell.com

  • @chempranav

Go for the u2412m instead :)

  • What's the height of the monitor when rotated?

  • Does this monitor support autorotation?

  • The panel is LG, but the outlet is by dell. Good combination I would say DELL has some of best monitor design , The stand is amazing in everyway, And the USB ports on monitor is also amzing

  • have you tested this monitor in black background does it have any light bleed?

  • Very tempted to buy one of these and a tv tuner card.

  • ultrasharp baby. still lovin my 1800fp i bought 7 years ago.

  • Comment removed

  • Fun fact: the panel in the Dell 2209WA is actually manufactured by LG

  • New apple iMac display is LG eIPS panel. Pretty sure Apple bought out the entire supply of the LG eIPS panels exclusively for iMac displays. Since the 2209WA has been hard to get your hands on. Beautiful display. Went for ~$210 early this year with discounts.

We'll see if these panels become more common/cheaper as we push out of the recession.

  • @ibtarnine thats good to know. ty

  • @noooooooooam samsung and LG(same s**t) "LOL" they dont even compare...

  • nice. this is perfect for ikaruga vertical play

  • Ordered one of these babies, this vid was very helpfull, cheers.

  • Theres not a single IPS monitor selling in Brasil, that sux ass!!! I decided buy a 42" IPS television thanx to this crappy importation taxes from our country!

I would love to rotate a monitor in portrait view and navigate on web like that or even read books anda mangas like that, would be perfect, but a 42" television can´t be rotated, and a crappy TN panel would be suck ass with its horrible view angle to be rotated =X

  • where can i buy one of these.

for some reason they arent selling it on dells website

  • Seems that just recently it has been taken off the Dell Small/Medium Business site. Anyone who ordered before it was taken off has had their ship date pushed back at least a month, so I'm assuming that demand was too high to keep accepting orders for the display for the time being. There is no indication it has been completely discontinued as orders are still shipping, just that it has been temporarily taken off the website. Hope that helps.

  • yeah thanks

  • there are rumors that it is being discontinued for some WTF reason. If you don't mind buying a refurb you can find it on the Dell outlet site.

  • I went ahead and bought the 2209W

  • Great video...

  • vidjet ces koliko ce biti za par mjeseci akd poraste prodaja, ako bude ispod 2700kn ja zadovoljan :p

  • in croatia (ex-yugoslavia) it is 500$ minimum so don't complain...

  • Imaš ga u Telebitu za 2200 kn ;)

  • i really want this monitor but the prices in europe are a ripoff. its like double the prices here. its 329 euro wich are 420$. what a fucking joke dell are!!

  • Here in Sweden we can get if for just over 200 euros! Finally we get something cheap! Almost as cheap as the Americans. Ordered one today.

  • Hello, Thank you for the demo viewing angles look amazing, according to cnet review the inside of the bezel reflects the screen and the deep inset causes a shadow have you found this to be any type of problem? Can you possibly post a video of the shadow if you have a chance as far as I can see this is the only issue anyone has with the monitor and is stopping me from buying right now would really appreciate if you can help, thanks again

  • No, not at all. It wasn't even noticeable to me until I read the review, but it isn't bothersome at all.

  • How did you calibrate yours? I just got mine but I am wondering what I should do to optimize its already amazing picture. Does it even need calibration on all default monitor and graphic card settings?

  • if it looks good to you man.. .just leave it

  • Some guy did make a calibrated profile at hardforumDotcom but they're having problems and the whole review/link to the ICC profile got deleted :-/

  • Human is an amazing thing. It can alter how we perceive something looks based on how we expect it to look.

As such, if you're doing anything color critical, calibration is absolutely necessary. And I mean hardware calibration.

  • ps... were you also able to get it for around $200?

  • Got mine yesterday... and, wow, the colours are so much nicer than my acer 22"... and the viewing angles are amazing compared to it. I can actually read in portrait mode... amazing! looking forward to see how the LG e-isp compares

  • That's because the Dell is using the higher quality IPS panels (like they used to use years ago) but sadly switched to lower quality TN panels like everybody else does... as you can see, there is a big difference.

  • please upload videos with games or movies etc.

  • thx for the vid, i'm thinking about getting this monitor......

  • how much is this monitor? i dont wanna go back to TN =]

  • $300 MSRP on Dell USA Business site.

  • I was going to buy one but when I got to the shipping address part, I got stuck on the business since I don't own a business. Do you have to own a business? x]

  • Thanks for taking the time to put up this video... how's reading text via portrait?

  • It's pretty good, cleartype tuner seems to make no difference. Definitely acceptable.

  • Thanks for posting! :)

  • hello mate. SEEMS LIKE A NICE MONITOR. Did you play any games? Is there input lag? The colours are good? Also how much did you pay? I am from Greece and they want 400 euros

  • Colors seem great. I've only played Mount & Blade so far on it, but ghosting/blurring seems about exactly the same as my Samsung 226bw, which was claimed to be "2ms".

No detectable input lag, and I think I would be quite sensitive to it as I'm used to gaming on a CRT anyways.
