hey i got a questin for any 1970s trans am owners. my 75 trans am 400s power steering pump squeeks after being turn too far both ways. i just want to see if anyone else has this problem
Typical of both power steering and these old cars. My 73 does it too. It'll only squeal though if you hold it all the way to its limit, and even then it's not terrible, just noticeable.
nice video but you need to find some more open road and make another video. show up what it can really do. btw you ever take it to the 1/4 mile? see what it can do.
73 n 74 SD's already had a hot factory cam n heads forged aluminum pistons forged valves and 80 psi oil pump,,,,to start with....off the showroom floor they were good for mid 13's
I have an SD Formula and it doesn't sound that radical. I'm thinking it might be a regular 455 with add ons .Since I have 3 Formula 350's I wanted his specs for 2 455 projects that are upcoming.
I had a 73 formula 455 super duty, 3 sp auto. I could hold 1 gear out to 60mph then take second gear to 120mph slap it into third and chirp the tires.
These cars have never been sold new in Australia, they were all privately imported and converted to right hand drive. There's not many here, I only know of a handful of 74's in this entire country.
I love how these baby's still chirp going into 2nd

gotta be Australia as they require cars to be converted to right hand drive. GM built them only LHD and they had to be converted locally.

I think it's not british because of the landscape in this vid (never saw palm trees in UK) xD

I had this happen on my 1979 T/A. Might want to check the belt tension or replace it.

The sunroof is electric and was a dealer option. They were made by ASC (American Sunroof Company).

Nice one man, definitely. Is that one of the rare 455 "Super Duty" TAs made only in '73 and '74?
SuperChargedZ28 4 years ago
It's a genuine 455 TA, but unfortunately not a "Super Duty".

Hey you can add me to your handful. I have a 74 with alot of custom parts. Check out my videos. By the way you have a really nice ride yourself.

Nice Trans Am, where do you live and where was it purchased? I bet you can't find any dash parts (not that you need them). Good video.
ztwntyn8 5 years ago
Thanks! I am in Australia, purchased from a mate in 2005 who had owned it since the 1980's.
mrjimmy111 5 years ago
That is one hell of a classic you have there... Even more rare that its right hand drive.
