The famous high notes aside, this was a VERY respectable performance. She has a gorgeous voice. And that's coming from a real music snob.

I like her vocal quality. Although she does not have the whistle tone I think that she made a great attempt covering this song. Not many people can do this.

This was good for the most part, but really out of the lead vocalist's singing range. Lisa Fischer's range is very unusual...and therefore her signature tunes would be hard to re-interpret by most vocalists without something being left out.

Oh my...the high notes were definitely a low-light. Perhaps a different key or improv. to compensate would be better for it, but it takes balls to touch a Lisa Fischer song. And for the most part, it's a very good attempt.  =D

Thanks for the Comments. This was one of my first bands. Jackie Brown is from San Diego. Please try to consider that we were just a cover band. We never planned on going to the Apollo or ever tried to out do Lisa Fisher. Jackie just loved her and the crowd always enjoyed hearing it.

@SDSaxMan I give ya'll credit for even trying to do it. But on the real, it was wack...way too fast, and as usual the lead singer had to go all "postal" trying to hit the high notes. I did feel there was potential though. In the future please do not mess with perfection. Lisa Fischer has a perfect voice with perfect pitch and an amazing vocal range......Just sayin'.
