I love tori no matter what, the guitar adds a nice touch but yes it could be a bit quiter so we can hear her and the paino more, In this tour she had an electric guitarist, when usually john evans does the slit bit of electric guitar if need, he always plays bass otherwise, and the balance with her matt and john are perfect, the added guitar does drown her out a bit
@LuvMyGr8DaneGuinness I agree, this session was poorly mixed. I don't know why the levels were really off in this performance, maybe they didn't have enough time to soundcheck.
yes I know she is the goddess and this and that but wow, her vocals are really so-so in this recording...of course, this is not without saying this song is my fav of hers in a long time
Only to the agist. Of course the texture of the voice cahnges, but the instrument is still there. Also, it's a matter of preference. I actually adore the maturity of her voice; it is more shifting, beautiful, and colorfully accentuated.
@BoysForPele1989 I completely agree. People complain that her voice is different because she's had "surgery". I think that she's put some effort into making herself look good for her age (not YOUNG, because the young will always win that contest), but I don't think she's gone plastic. Her vocal technique changed between Venus and Beekeeper. It's part age, and part her "overusing" her voice and getting gravelly in certain passages, it can do a number on the vocal cords. Still love her though. <3

I have to admit I'm actually really happy with the fact that, on this album, the guitar often DOES drown out the piano. I never thought I'd hear myself say that, but it makes this album stand out sooo far against the others.
Haha I know what you mean. I like the fact that she's doing it though because it really does help live performances. But from pictures I've seen of her without a wig, either her hair is thinning or she did something to it to make wig-wearing easier, but she looks like she's lost a lot of hair. Or maybe it's just spending so much time in wigs...

I agree about the guitar and drums. You can barely hear Tori and her piano. But i do love the song. Everything she sings is beautiful.

Is it just me, or is Tori's band really drowning out her piano here (esp. the guitar)? Or do I need to get my hearing checked?

I love this song, but I really think she finds it hard singing it live... it sounds like if she's struggling to get the vocals out...

Wow, this version is so great! I love the guitar against the piano. =D
