This didn't receive much media coverage in the continental U.S. I'm surprised.

The Haiti earthquake is all the media's been talking about the last week. Sure, the Haiti quake was a horrible event, but this tsunami was awful, too, and it happened in a spot where the U.S. has direct interest. It was hardly mentioned by media in the continental U.S. Also, there weren't numerous ads urging Americans to give money and supplies to Samoa.

My prayers go out to the folks in Samoa and Haiti.

Also Haiti really lacks the ability to recover from a disaster of any magnitude, especially one as huge as the earthquake - whereas Samoa has more resources.

33 people died in this tsunami and many people lost there homes and many were injured. A 8.3 earthquake hit 26 minutes before the tsunami. So all you people complaining about the footage be thankful you can watch it 33 people can't watch it and many others on this island can't watch it cause it's two weeks later and they still don't have power or a home.
