Even if the broadcasters made Vitas "lipsync", knowing Vitas he was probably actually singing there on stage. :P

In a lot of his live performances he moves the mike away from his face at random times to prove that he's not lipsyncing because he's been accused of it a lot. Of course, he's STILL perfect when he does so ^^ He sings quite effortlessly too, which makes it seem as if he's lipsyncing.

In China, in certain festivals and/or performances you HAVE to sing playback so it's not like Vitas had much of a choice. Either way, he's proven in his actual LIVE performances that he can actually hit those high notes.

most of the singers use opera, pitch variations, yodel etc., but according to me whatever sound you create from your vocal chords if it sounds unique, great, different, beautiful, amazing.. then he/she can be called as a true singer.

vitas is the true singing genius .. he doesn't lip sync like American pop singers !!

I think that although this may well be lipsync, it sounds slightly different from the final track; the instrumentation is more clearer. It may be that he rerecorded the song for this performance.

Well now they banned lipsyncing so pretty much anything you hear now is live. Unfortunately Vitas has been changing his performances of Opera 2 to sing the verses differently, leaving only the high notes the same. I don't think he should be doing that it doesn't sound as good :S

He had to, unfortunately. They wanted the Olympics to be perfect so they made everyone lipsync. There was the girl who sang "Ode to Motherland," but was replaced with another during the real performance. They didn't think she was pretty enough to perform.

Now, however, they have banned lipsyncing in events, because if they didn't, old singers would still be around and new singers can't become famous.

Firstly, for those who think this is impossible live, just search 'vitas rehearsal' and you will see him singing the high-pitch live CLEARLY! Secondly, music videos and live performance could sound exactly the same because maybe he practises it 24/7 as its his professional career to sing and perfect. He doesn't need to show face expressions, hell he can probably just lie watching tv while singing it perfectly with all that practise for years.
